The cave is very cool with some beautiful features, but the tour is very brief (probably around 15-20 minutes). We had around 15 people in our tour group, which was too many for a cave this small. We felt rushed in some parts and unable to really enjoy looking at the formations due to people behind us (you have to walk single file), and the tour guide leaving us behind. The gift shop is extremely underwhelming and the old ghost town area is in severe disrepair. I felt like the tour was badly overpriced at $20. $10 per person would be more in line with the experience. It is worth seeing if you're in the area, but I definitely wouldn't make a trip just to see this place. It's a classic tourist trap.

You are very misleading on just about everything, sorry you got up on the wrong side of the bed.... As far as the price goes this is 2021 not 1980.... Also we are not a tourist trap, the front door is not locked you can do a u turn and leave...

These caverns are an easy walk through. Look for the salamanders. There are unique formations in this cavern. It if full of history as well as geology. The village at its edge has some interesting historical building. Fun family adventure

Have visited the caverns (and Village) on several occasions. With kids, grandkids and friends .
The caverns are some of the oldest in the country and the stream flowing through it culminating in the pool at the end are fascinating.
The caverns were used by ancient people and show signs of their activities.
The village that is open and free to tour on your own before or after the guided cave tour is a gem.
Many of the oldest buildings have been brought and reassembled here.
It’s got everything from the hotel to the dry goods store, even a jail and church.
Bring a pick nick lunch and spend the day.

We arrived just in time for the last tour of the day. There was quite a mixed group taking the tour mainly from the US but all very friendly. There is a little walk to the cavern through a wooded area. The guide was really interesting to listen to and he made sure he included everyone - especially the kids. The tour around the caves was very interesting and the guide was very knowledgeable. As well as the caves, there are some historic buildings to view. All in all, we spent a good couple of hours here - fantastic location.

I am really a one and done person and feel like when you see one you've seen them all. Kids insisted that we go and I'm glad I did. If you have extra time stop in.

A great way to kill a couple of hours while truly becoming one with the magnificent Ozarks. The limestone formations and history are fascinating.

Now we were not told that you have to be ready to hike up steep stairs to get out. The cave and the surrounding 1800's village needs lots of care. Looks like no one has done anything in a long time to keep anything up. My group was disipointed in the whole overall experance . What a shame to let what could be a really historical place just fall apart. So sad!

When we first pulled up to this place I was hesitant to get out of the car. It looks really run down on the outside but inside was actually very nice. The owner was very very nice and the college-aged tour guide was very knowledgeable and was a good guide. It was super hot the day we visited so the nice 50 degree cave was awesome! There's plenty of room to maneuver through the caverns. There wasn't any place where we had to shimmy side-ways or crawl under anything (like caverns we've gone through in Colorado). It was really wet so don't wear nice shoes. It's actually slimy and full of clay also, so expect your shoes to get wet and get clay on them. It's nothing that can't be wiped off afterwards so if you do happen to wear nice white shoes (like I did, oops! Totally my fault) it will be okay. The cave is accessible but I would advise if you're on crutches or use a cane or walker, to not go through the cavern just because of the wetness and steep incline to and from the cavern.

The place is a little run down but we always stop here. The people are great and the gift shop has a lot of great stuff. The kids like to pan for gems. The cave is actually better than I remember. There's lots to see and it's actually a lot larger than I though. There is a lot of walking down hill (and up hill when your done). Most people wont have a problem. The cave was a little damp so bring shoes you don't care about or step over puddles. The Arksansas heat and humidity was crazy on the day we went and the cave was a nice cool stop at 50 degrees. The tour guide, who was a young kid did really well. I wasn't expecting much but he really was a good guide and seemed like he actually cared about his job. That made the tour even better.

This attraction is coupled with the mountain view 1890 town. The guide to the caverns was knowledgeable and patient. There were a lot of interactive things to do here. The 1890 villiage was mostly closed off because it was run down. We didn't have to pay to walk through it. They had signs up showing where the buildings were from and little interesting notes. It's self guided tour so you can go at your own pace.

What happened to your historian? He was our favorite part of our visit last year. :(

Hi, I'm the historian for Mountain Village 1890. I want to assure you that nothing has happened to me. I'm taking some personal time this season and hope to be back next year. I appreciate your concern and am very sorry that I missed you this year. That said, I would humbly ask that you please take a moment to consider the review you left the other day. The employees of this establishment work very hard to entertain and serve our guests and really do deserve a fair review that doesn't attack them on a personal level. Thank you for your consideration and patronage, and I hope to see you again on a future visit. -William Fleming, Historian for Mountain Village 1890.

We have an 8 month old. Would this cave tour have walkways that would accomodate a stroller?
