Highly recommend this train trip to The Grand Canyon. It was lots of fun and a very relaxing way to travel. Keep in mind though you only get about 3 hours at the actual Canyon and you could easily spend all day there. The staff...More

The train was good as an alternative to driving to the Canyon. The Hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The service of the front desk is subpar. This was $230 per night and you can do about the same for half the cost. Icing...More

I highly recommend the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and train to the Grand Canyon. We did a two night package deal, our meals were included. The food/buffets were great, it was fun to have entertainment at the dinners as well. The entire staff was friendly...More

We stayed at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park for 5 nights and were quite pleased with the cleanliness and upkeep of the park. The fact that all sites were full hookups and on black top made the 5 nites comfortable and clean. Sites were large...More

Took the train to the Grand Canyon because I wanted to sight see instead of drive. We booked seats in the Pullman car, which is not air conditioned. It was actually a fairly comfortable ride even though temps were approaching 100 degrees. Jason was our...More

We decided to get away for Christmas 2016. We were a little nervous about going to the Grand Canyons in the snow. Taking the Grand Canyon Rail was an experience not to be missed. We took a regular car on the way to the canyon...More

I am traveling with my mom who is older. If she becomes fatigued during the Grand Canyon Visit portion. Would she have access to go back onto the train and wait for the departure there. Or where is a nice air condioned place for her to wait?

as others have said, the train is long but entertaining and beautiful. If you are keeping costs down I would suggest not doing the bus tour. There is a free shuttle and you can see what you want. They run frequently and... More

Taking my 11 year old twins for the first time to see the Grand Canyon. Heard the railway was a must. Am I understanding correctly that it's 2 hours and 15 minutes EACH WAY?? And how long are you free once you are there? What is there to do? And which level of car is best? Husband wants to keep it cheap, but it looks like there's no air conditioning on the cheapest one?

Yes, the train is a bit over two hours each way. The landscape is interesting and occasional wild animals can be spotted. We saw deer and antelope not to mention the various herds of cattle. Our trip involved an overnight... More

Yes, the seats are assigned. But if you're family is sitting together, say part in one seat & part in the seat behind the seats can be turned around so you can face each other.
