There is a big difference between a state park (Tubac) and a national park (Tumacocori) in terms of how much money each gets, and it pained me to hear that the Tubac exists largely thanks to volunteers. They are doing a great job at Tubac, and this doesn't take away from... More

This historic town has made itself into a tourist destination and offers a significant number of shops selling all manor of things, a lot of Mexican or of other South American countries origin, some beautiful Native American manufactured rugs, pottery, jewellery (and especially with torquoise) and baskets and some imported merchandise. Not exactly cheap and a need to be aware... More

We stopped by this park for about one and a half hours. If we didn't have small children, I probably could have spend another hour or so more fully exploring the place. There is a self-guided tour around the Presidio with many exhibits covering all important facets of life in historical Arizona. Especially interesting was the presentation of Arizona's involvement... This park features a nice visitor center, and several well preserved historic buildings, along with a very interesting and well done museum. It was a couple of hours very well spent.

This is a combo visitors center, state park, and historic park. Interesting museum and artifacts with a small native plant garden. One of the volunteers was very helpful in providing information about our travels to the Patagonia/Sonoita area by bike.

Had a chance to visit this park during our brief stay near Tubac. Enjoyed the historic perspective of the town and area, nice displays and informative museum on site. Would recommend a visit if you like local history. Priced reasonably.
