--Clarifying directions (with photos): The correct driveway is between mile marker 337 & 338, about 100 meters past marker 337. There's a private drive with "Private Property" signs that confused me between 336 and 337. The correct drive is 1/4 mile past this (driving away...More

Mesmerizing to experience this dramatic landscape. Highly recommend - we saw with our Hopi guide, Evelyn Frederick (experiencehopi.com)

This canyon is quite colorful and there are many hoodoo shapes are to enjoy. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that the 5-star paradigm for canyons is not too far away. Also there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get...More

The directions were accurate and the road is not as bad as some people have said if you avoid the ruts and the cows and take the easy walk from the picnic tables. As every one has said, the canyon is a truly awesome sight...More

Difficult to get to with a regular car, dirt road with big holes but definately worth the effort. I wouldn't follow the sign that says Coal Mine Canyon unless you have a off road jeep but if you look for windmill and house and follow...More

Not far from Tuba City. Just follow the direction below and look for the windmill. I have been there 3 times and have been amazed each time. Twice I was able to hike down into the canyon (very steep and many years ago). Now I...More

As many previous reviewers have noted, you won't be disappointed by this wonderful "little" canyon. Follow the directions given (head straight toward the windmill with the concrete towers just past mm137. It's easy to lose faith, but the drive is easy enough (not so in...More

Not real good for trailers. No place to set one up. Definitely 4x4 road with washes to cross. Very narrow roads.

It's not a place where you'd spend a lot of time. Stopping for pictures is pretty much all there is to it. There are no facilities, no amenities. The Navajo permits allow you to camp out there if you're the rugged type--(no... More
