- Olivia B6 contributionsFantastic serviceThe boat journey was extremely professional, the boat was on time (to the exact minute) and the staff were very helpful. The boat provides a bathroom and also WiFi which was an added bonus. I Was rather nervous about this trip as I have heard some horror stories about the ferry and wasn’t sure if this boat would be any different, but it definitely did not disappoint. It made the trip over to Gili T very enjoyable. Couldn’t recommend this company enough. Thank you Gili Getaways :)Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 6 November 2023
- ArabellaLondon, United Kingdom101 contributionsExcellent, reliable and safeExcellent experience! Everything from A-B was smooth and prompt. The driver was late collecting me from my hotel but called me to reassure he’d be there. All the luggage was handled professionally and safely, the boat left on time and arrived at Gili Air on time. On my way back it also collected me on time and arrived back in Bali on time and my driver took me to my hotel. All very efficient and reliable. The boat is smaller so is prone to be bumpier than others but if you can handle that then it’s fine, they do offer sickness pills. There is also WiFi on the boat and they give you icy cold towels at the end which is great. Booking the ticket was also very easy online and they amended the dates for me when my plans changed. Would definitely use again, totally worth the money.Visited December 2023Travelled soloWritten 29 December 2023
- Sophia BAustralia9 contributionsGreat experienceWe travelled with Gili Getaway on our way to and from Lombok from Bali. They are well organised and easy to book with. Definitely recommend! The journey back was very rough (a little scary!) but the skipper and staff were excellent, felt very safe.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 January 2024

The staff were friendly, everything was highly organised and they made it a really smooth journey for us from start to finish. - Laura A2 contributionsAmazing smooth service from start to finishI had heard a lot of horror stories about the trip to Gili T from Bali and wow, I couldn't have been proven more wrong! We used Gili getaway and their communication was amazing from the start. We travelled all the way from Scotland and even then the company kept in touch with us over WhatsApp both at the time of booking and the day before we travelled. We used their transfer service to get to Serangan and to get to Uluwatu on our return and both transfers were quick and on time. Both of our boats left on time and we didn't experience any chaos at the ferry terminal. We sat outside on the boat and the ride was really fun and we felt totally safe. Would highly recommend Gili Getaway and we will use again the next time we come to Bali.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 June 2024

The terminal was relaxed slick and organized. Boats were not packed and journey easy I would certainly use and recommend them to any planning the crossingVisited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 July 2024
- stephenCairns, Australia1 contributionSmaller more personalised speedboat - forget the hectic chaos of the bigger boats! We have travelled many fast boats and prepared ourselves for a hectic journey. The free shuttle was a car/driver with only x1 other passenger. We were astounded when we were personally shown to check-in NO QUEUES and NO CHAOS 🙏 Instead a cafe with no queues, great coffee and pastries and plenty of free tables to relax for a short wait for the boat. WIFI on board for free. The staff were always available with amazing smiles and welcoming. By far the best smaller more personal and relaxing fastboat.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 August 2024

We usually fly from Bali to Lombok but thought we would try the fast boat experience. After a lot of online research, with cheaper prices available, we chose Gili Getaway due to the stated amenities on the boat, specifically air conditioning and the movie. There was air conditioning but could only feel it when the boat was not moving so the trip in the boat itself was hot - with slight fumes smells from the engines. The movie was more a DVD with subtitles. Two of our group sat up top (a popular place that filled quickly) but two with mild physical impairments couldn’t make it up the steep ladder. Not much shade up too so there was some sunburn. The team on the boat were excellent and I felt safe in the crossing but it was a very uncomfortable trip. The worst surprise was at Bangsal harbour in Lombok. To disembark you need to somehow get from the boat onto roughly cut steps in the rock. I had visions of being crushed between the rock wall and the boat in the choppy weather. Not an easy feat for anyone let alone those with mild physical disabilities. So after making it up the stairs our group decided that getting back on the boat would be near impossible and no one was looking forward to the return trip. I contacted the company who advised that as it was less than a week notice we would only receive a 50% refund on the return trip. I asked for a review as our return trip was only 4 days later than the arrival, stating the reasons why (difficult access) but management refused to refund 100%. I did feel that this was an unreasonable decision as we were not aware of the Bangsal Harbour difficulties. Perhaps this should be made clearer when booking. I have to say that despite this the booking team were very helpful and we received our 50% refund quickly. From a staff and organising perspective they were great. From a comfort and access perspective the trip is a nightmare. It was nice to get on a flight back to Bali.

I particularly want to leave this review because, before leaving, I was terrified of doing the Bali - Gili T route with the wrong company because of the bad reviews I had read around. After a thousand considerations, about 3 months before my trip, I opted to book this company because it seemed to me that it was talked about on average well or at least better than others. I contacted them by email and they replied very quickly giving me all the information I had requested and telling me that I could book by making a transfer to a guy whose IBAN was connected to a bank in Belgium! I was a bit puzzled, but then I decided to trust and in fact everything went well! After a few days I received the electronic ticket by email and so I waited for the day of departure and I must say that I could not have hoped for better: perfect organization both before boarding and during boarding and on board everything went smoothly. Suitcases stored in a dry place, life jackets in adequate number to the number of seats on board, comfortable and punctual journey. In short: very high standards for being in Indonesia! The only thing I noticed is that I probably had the time and way to buy the ticket directly on site I would have spent much less, but to secure the seat on board with this company, I would pay the same amount a thousand times!

We used Gili Getaway for our return trip to Gilli Trawangan as recommended by our hotel on the island. The boat was modern and staff friendly. We had an 'interesting' crossing with high swells but the captain ensured we remained safe. They also collected us from our hotel prior to departure and dropped us at our hotel upon our return all with the booking fee. Recommended.

We booked the ferries from Serangang to Gili Air and back again 10 days later in advance and everything worked out wonderfully. Gili Getaway even offered a hotel transfer that we didn't have to pay for separately. That was great. Everyone (both in the communication beforehand, at the ports and on the ship) was super friendly and helpful and everything went smoothly and clearly. We were very satisfied.

Incredible return trip with these guys! Picked up on time at a hotel for transfer to the boat. Great service while on board with clear information about where we're going and all the stops. They offered water, mentos, sea sick tablets, sunscreen and even wet towels before arrival. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even prioritised me to make sure I catch my flight (which I did!) on the return trip from Gili T to Bali. Will definitely book with them again - hopefully soon ;)

Everybody on the English speaking internet said that Gili Getaway was better than Eka Jaya. All of the reviews for Gili Getaway are much higher. So I booked Gili Getaway for the trip back from the Gilis (for the trip going, Eka Jaya was the only option).
I'm here to tell you that everybody must have been smoking something on Gili Air to think that Gili Getaway is better than Eka Jaya. On Eka Jaya we had a large boat that was well air conditioned and did not rock in the water.
On Gili Getaway, there is no air conditioning, the cabins are stuffy, and there's no air movement - I can only say that thankfully they have seats outside on the back of the boat because I was heat sick and nauseous inside the cabin. The Gili Getaway boats are smaller than Eka Jaya and therefore are incredibly bumpy. If I wasn't sick from the heat, I was sick from how bumpy it was. The same for my travel companion - he was dehydrated, and seasick. We're not people who get sick like that easily.
I will say that the service for Gili Getaway is better: ice cold towels for right before you leave the boat, transfer to your final destination in Bali included in the ticket (I must have added it), and good customer service.
If I recall correctly, Eka Jaya makes more stops so the trip is an hour longer. Even then I would take Eka Jaya with a longer trip and "ok"/subpar customer service if it meant an air conditioned boat.

Hi , I have booked return trips for 2people in 10 days time , I did not see anything about hotel pickup and drop off , is this something this company does ?

Yes they do that, but make sure to wear a hat or sunscreen as they make you wait a long time in the sun for the boat.

Hello I’m coming to Bali in September and am looking at getting a boat over to Gil T, when i look online at a few web sights the price is coming up at around 80-130 AUD per person return trip, I don’t remember it being that much when i was there 3 years ago, could anyone give me any info on how much a boat should cost?
Thank you

Hello Bubbelel, it's 123 AUD return. Gili Getaway is the only fastboat company. I would recommend this company cause I find their service very good.
If you want to spend less money on a ticket you should try other companies.

Can you bring large suitcases on the boat or only small bags?
Written 17 June 2018
you can check-in with large suitcases or backpacks, it was no problem. i think there is a limit of the weight (officialy), but never seen that they would have checked this. we took two times gili getaway and there were always guests with large suitcases, so dont worry about that ;)

Buongiorno,
Grazie

These guys offer a great service, contact them through their website, they are very efficient and all the details you need are on there website (pick up locations, cost etc). They pick up from most hotels in Kuta, Sanur, Legion, Semenyak etc and will take you directly to the ferry check in, the boat is very comfortable and smooth. Drop off the other end involves wet feet and a scramble down a ladder but there are plenty of staff there to assist. Definitely the best option for getting to the Gili's
