Fantastic trail with much diversity. Trees, rocks, scrub vegetation, slick rock, ups and downs, sun, shade, creek bed. This trail has it all.

There's no better hike at sunset; the canyon and formation colors are breathtaking. This is a definite must-do. Not nearly as crowded as other trails.

This was an 8 mile out and back hike. It was beautiful scenery all along the way including a stream and many overlooks. The view at the top is well worth it. We climbed 1,065 in elevation. A steady climb. We hit the trail around 8:00 and didn’t see another person until we were 1/3 of the way down. So awesome! As the day went on, the trail got pretty busy and there was a lot of traffic on the nearby road/keep trail. Highly advise going early. Beautiful hike, and a great workout. Bring water and lunch for a picnic at the top!

Try to go on a weekday to lessen the noise of jeeps and ATVs, and go early. We went in the off season and started around 9 AM and heard only 2-3 vehicles for the whole trip. Beautiful hike along the canyon, several small waterfalls during the wet season. Great views at the Cowpies. Watch out for the continuation to Hangover trail, not too bad up to the saddle with great views of Midgely Bridge, but then more slickrock hiking at an angle before reconnecting with Mund's Wagon. Allow for about 5 hours to complete the loop.

We chose this hike as our hard hike for the weekend. It is long and offers a variety of scenery and rock formations. No water source while we were here though. Recommend doing the hike counterclockwise around Merry go Round Rock as you make your way you the Patties. Be prepared to crawl up the rocks to the top and you will be rewarded with one of the best vistas of Sedona and HighwAy89 rock formations. Give the right of way to mountain bikers though. I am still stunned that bikers do this route because even hiking this trail is a challenge with some danger. This is a fun hike.

A guide recommended Munds Wagon Trail as the creek was higher than normal and provided several small water falls. It was a beautiful hike with great views. We were there during the very busy spring break season yet we didn't have many people on the trail once we got started. Yes, you must cross the road and, yes, there are jeeps along the road but it really didn't affect our enjoyment of the hike. It was a nice balance of walking along water and hiking up and down the mountain. I would recommend the hike. It was one of our favorites.

As some of the reviewers mentioned..there are better options..but this hike is very scenic and that makes up for the occasional exposure to vehicles on the nearby road. It does cross the road in a couple of areas, but with signs ahead of the crossing. I hiked on a Sunday and encountered few hikers and a little traffic from the road but otherwise it was well worth it. I’ve hiked MANY trails in Sedona and would recommend this trail over some of the more secluded hikes I’ve been on based on scenery of this hike. I did not intend on hiking this trail but I’m glad I did!

One of the nicest, up and down trails in Sedona. You go up and down quite often but nothing is too severe. Greta for a picnic, romantic hike or even a proposal setting especially by the water falls when it is not so dry. Great for a starter that wants the challenge of a hike and a change of scenery with every footstep.

Like all Sedona trails, this is very pretty and will constantly hold your attention aesthetically speaking. However, it parallels Schnebly Hill Road, so you've usually got some traffic nearby while other options depart the nearby roads for better quiet and solitude.

The majestic views on all of Schnebly Hill are incredible but this one is breathtaking & will literally mesmerize you.
Unfortunately the jeep tours have this as part of one of their routs so know this can be intrusive. I simply wait for them to pass & return to a trance only these majestic mountains can provide.
