I took a day trip to Sedona. While there I went on a small group tour called the Best Vortex and Chakra Tour of Sedona. This small group tour has a maximum of six travelers. (My group only had two.). We visited two Vortexes. One was a Buddhist site, The other was Rachel's Knoll. The tour involved some walking, sitting, and riding. It included a chakra reading and gemstone. We saw the mountains in the background.

The tour was 2.5 hours. I also had some time for sightseeing and dining before and after the tour. I took pictures of some pretty flowers and the store Gem Magic, which is a short walk from the tour meeting place at a Best Western Hotel. That hotel is just across the parking lot from The Golden Goose American Grill, where I ate vegetarian options for lunch and dinner.

I found Sedona to be a nice, scenic place with temperatures about ten degrees cooler than Scottsdale, where the highs were a little above 100 in mid-September.

Hard track without really much to see and too many cyclists. The view into the valley is nice but it is not the best place for scenes

We absolutely loved this hike! Not too long but a good workout to get to the top. It was so cool how it was flat at the top so we could sit and look out! I would not have considered this hike had it not been for our hot air balloon tour guide recommendation. Also loved ample parking, bathrooms and NOT crowded !!

We recently did this hike on our trip to Sedona with our daughters, ages 15 and 12. It is spectacular with a large flat plateau at the top where you can walk around and get gorgeous pictures from all angels. The woman at the visitors center recommended this hike and we are so glad we did it! I would say it is pretty easy to moderate- there are spots where you have to go up rocks steps, and a bit of scrambling, hands and feet required. Highly recommend!

This was our favorite Sedona hike. Great switchbacks and a short scramble. Kids (7 and 8) did just fine. We had snacks at the top.

This is a great hike for kids, elderly and anyone who wants an easy and relatively flat hike. There is a sign that declares “end of trail” and at this point those who want to climb the rock in front of them, can. It’s a good resting spot before heading back in same direction. We did this early afternoon so we could hike Fay Canyon before sunset.

Don't be fooled by the short mileage - it's entirely uphill! Hands AND feet required for this one. The views are amazing and it's difficult to go off the path here.

My husband and I love to hike, so while this may have been easy for us, it would not be for everyone. My iwatch told me it was an elevation gain of about 439 ft. It was about 3/4 mile up with a steady gain most of the way. Lots of spots to rest. We did this at about 8:30am and there were a few other people on the trail, but it wasn’t crowded. When you get to the top you can walk to the back side and enjoy the views. I took us about an hour and 20 minutes (probably 20 minutes on top). It got the heart racing at times, for sure, but was a fun, short hike. After we left we went over to do the Fay Canyon Arch Trail to finish out the morning.

Not long in distance, but a vertical climb so could be challenging for some as there are a few rock scrambles along the way. Good shoes are a must as slippery rocks and glad we had our hiking sticks as well. However, the panoramic view at the top is worth the hike.

Small lot where we found parking and paid $15 for a weekly Red Rock pass.

Trail was an easy 3m up the top of the Mesa, where we did the loop around.

As we were rock hopping at about 10:30, my husband hopped right over an AZ black rattlesnake. Got some great shots of it warming up in the sun.
