Great hike, go early in the day of your going in late July--during monsoon season. Beautiful, spiritual, a must see...don't go late in the day--unless you like to sweat! BRING WATER!!!

My 3 year old loved climbing on this hike. For someone his age it is a lot of climbing. Coming down I had him jump off of rocks into my arms and he had a blast. It was an overcast July day so the rocks...More

Sedona is like none other. We are in Scottsdale Arizona on business and decided to make the drive to Sedona. When I come back to Arizona I will 100% spend a week or so in Sedona. It is truly spectacular. Arrived at the summit and...More

We visited in December, so the weather was ideal. This is not an easy hike; it is very difficult; however if you push through, the views are amazing and it's much easier to come back down. Heading up you should follow the trails marked with...More

Such amazing rock formations. Due to record high temps, we didn't hike to the top. Heard it was challenging but worth it.

This hike was unlike any hike I've done before! The trail was well marked but was steep and very narrow in some spots. Be careful with your footing so you don't slide or trip. Also, it's best to hike in the morning before it gets...More

The best view of all of Sedona. You cannot miss this! The hike is moderately difficult in that it is upwards and you must climb some tough rocks but we'll worth it!

We visited Cathedral Rock from a couple of perspectives. By far my favorite was viewing it from a distance at sunset at Red Rock Crossing. When the sun hits it, it glows and the mirror image reflection in the calm water is an image I...More

Important: I strongly advise that you do the hike on a weekday, early morning and on an off-season, if possible. There are some paths on the trail that are narrow and only one person at a time can pass. We woke up early to hike...More

Perfect arrival time. It's hot an crowded in the afternoon, plus it's a little sketchy hiking down once the sun has set.

I doubt the heat will be as much of an issue in October. But it would still be nice to get an early start to beat the crowds. Parking and be tough if you get there too late.

We didn't actually climb Castle Rock but hiked to it through a state park on the "backside". The hike was very doable for the two of us in our mid 60's and the trail was very enjoyable. Sorry if this is exactly an answer to... More
