Parking is a challenge. There are two parking areas and both are full on weekends. I would suggest taking a Taxi or Uber. From easy strolling around the base to technical climbing near the top, there is something for everyone here.

If you reach Sedona heading north, this will seem very spectacular, and because of this the car parks are usually full, and you need some sort of permit to park there. If you have already seen all that the northern canyons have to offer, this...More

Bell rock is probably the most well known and easily identified of the "named rock formations". Depending upon which way you enter town it can also be one of the first you view rising out of the ground majestically. The hiking is varied and there...More

Bell rock not only beautiful but is great for hiking along the many paths or up the rock or mountain biking. Popular tourist spot to plan accordingly.

We went mountain biking here. The trails are nice and easy for a beginner. There are also some single track opportunities for the more adventurous.

relatively flat, nice hike around both bell rock and Courthouse Butte. Round trip from car was about 5.5 miles.

Many people like to walk around the base of Bell Rock. While some climb it, it's difficult to descend. All visitors have a good view of Bell Rock and easily identify it with fond memories as they think of Sedona.

Kids loved bouldering and we could see a lot without climbing too high. Follow trail rock markers to climb up.

You can'r miss Bell rock. It towers over Sedona. The loop path is very easy. Many people extend the walk by climbing to the top. If you do this y ou will not be disappointed. The top offers spectacular 360 views.

Bell Rock is a bit outside of Sedona proper, so you may want to stay in the town and drive the few minutes to Bell Rock. There is so much red rock scenery everywhere that you shouldn't limit yourself to a Bell Rock view, I... More

Go quite early in the morning for hiking to avoid the heat and then star gazing is after sundown . . . Say, 10 p.m.
