An easy hike with beautiful views.

We chose Bell Rock because it was an easy hike. We had senior family members and children ages 4-8. We all loved hiking and the views were great.

We walked the trails and climbed up the rock. There is easy trail access and it became more difficult as you climbed the Bell Rock. We made it 3/4 of the way to the top.

Awesome hike and absolutely stunning views once up. The hike was pretty easy, but we found the smooth rock a bit slippery when coming down. Watch your footing. The hike on the North side was better than the longer hike on the south side. My only beef is all the Vortex side shows. Really distracts from the beauty of the... More

I keep coming back to sit and meditate on this incredible natural wonder. I love its raw beauty. The junipers are beautiful but can out off so much pollen in spring. I tried to climb up as high as I could go but did not get very far. It looks so easy to ascend from the ground but once you... More

(See my November 11, 2015 review for a bunch of details I won't repeat here) This is a great sidetrip if you're going north from Phoenix, to Flagstaff or the Grand Canyon (they're expanding 89A north of Sedona, north of Oak Creek Canyon, so I expect this could be backed up and take a lot of time this summer). We're... More

Easy hike to the base of the rock. The redness is from oxidation caused by the elements of the iron in the rock. The wind eroded the rock into the very distinctive shape. It's best seen morning through 1.5 hours before sunset because the color dulls in late afternoon.

So the hike from parking lot is a gradual up hill grade( easy on the way down) about 3/4 mile in. Watch for people on bicycles. Plenty of room just acknowledge them. Many many photo ops. Landscape is crazy good. Parking is $5 I think. Somebody leaving gave us his parking pass. So double check. Big parking lot fills up... More

One of the easier climbs. Definitely pleasant and yet a good work out. The scenary is beautiful and not too far out of Sedona.

This is one of the best formations in the Sedona area. Whether going N or S on Hwy 179, the views are outstanding. There is a parking area just south of Bell Rock, but technically one is required to have a Red Rock Pass.

Bell Rock is a popular venue for hikers who want a nice walk in the Red Rock area of Sedona. My wife and I came upon Bell Rock as we drove from Interstate 17 on HWY 179 into Sedona. This entire area is PHENOMENAL.
