Bell Rock is a spiritual experience for everyone of any physicality. Trails to the base are marked and not very steep. I amazed myself by climbing beyond what I thought was my ability about 3/4 of the way to the top and was stopped only...More

This is a wondrous outcrop in Sedona. Well worth seeing if you are up that. It is also believed by some that there is an alien spaceship buried beneath it!!!

This hike is easy, depending on how high you climb. The parking situation was simple. You could hike to the top of the rock, or simply stay near the bottom. Very cool, and could be quick if you wanted something less timely.

So, I went hiking solo. My 1st visit to Sedona and it won't be my last. I was prepared with a hydration backpack (~1.5 liters of water), snacks, lip balm, cap and sunglasses. I would highly recommend hiking boots or shoes especially if climbing up...More

You will be fine with regular sport shoes (need a bit of traction). If you are doing serious climbing, higher levels, then it is a different story. On Bell Rock YOU select whether you want gentle walks or hikes or more... More

Bell Rock is a bit outside of Sedona proper, so you may want to stay in the town and drive the few minutes to Bell Rock. There is so much red rock scenery everywhere that you shouldn't limit yourself to a Bell Rock view, I... More

Go quite early in the morning for hiking to avoid the heat and then star gazing is after sundown . . . Say, 10 p.m.
