We were given the advice to do this trail after 2:00. Very good advice. We drove right in and parked right by the start of the trail. We did hike the whole trail and it was absolutely beautiful. There were a couple of tricky Creek...More

We loved this trail. All the red rocks and vegetation were absolutely stunning to walk through. It's a little over 3 miles in and 3 miles back out, but it's easy to just turn around head back to the trailhead if you don't feel up...More

I read that this is the best hike in Arizona. And I think it is very close to be the truth. Breathtaking views. Many stream crossing. In May water is low so shoes are dry after all. :) parking is small so it gets full...More

So many conflicting reviews on length and time. Here is the deal, to the end of the marked trail is 3.3 miles in, if you want to see the little river/canyon thing its another half a mile, so all in (out and back) was 7.7...More

If you can manage an 8-mile hike, this is the perfect destination for a hot day. The canyon is shady and at a higher elevation than Sedona's red rock trails. It reminds me of the riverside walk at Zion National Park. Though classified as easy,...More

Full disclosure: We didn't actually get to do the West Fork hike. Why? No parking. We arrived at 9:40 am on a weekday, and the parking was already full. We altered our plans and ended up going to Soldier's Pass instead, which was great. However,...More

Of our two Sedona hikes, this was the best. Parking is $10, but park up the road a bit and walk in for just $2. Incredible, delightful, very children-friendly hike along beautiful creek. Try to go a little way beyond the "narrow canyon pools where...More

This hike was more than pleasant. You go through such varied topography & scenery along the way. There are several changes to the vegetation along the way. From scrubby plants to evergreens to hardwood forest. And very pretty forest flowers were blooming. A lot of...More

You could easily forget you are in the desert on this easy hike. Arrive early, gates open at 8 am, $10, and small parking lot. You are quickly in a forest of large pines and oaks with red rock walls surrounding you. The river crossings...More

Hi. We will be there March 12th and want to hike the trail. What do you recommend we take for footwear with regards to water levels? Do people take walking sticks?

Take water, the streams you cross are ankle deep, i just let my sneakers get wet, it was no big deal. My cousin did wear water proof ticking boots. I wouldn't wear sandals although we saw teenagers with sandals on and they... More

It's an out-and-back trail and it crosses the creek several times so be sure to wear waterproof shoes or be ready for some wet feet! It took us 4 hours total which includes time to take pictures and stand at some spots... More
