Take the Vista route

Boynton Trail splits in two. Take the Vista path to make it a 1 mile round trip. Spend a while at the top contemplating the views and peace. Ok walk for kids.

We visited with our three children - ages 9, 7, 6- and this trail was one of the highlights of our trip. We took the path to the vista point which afforded amazing views and gave the boys a chance to climb some rocks. The Vista Point trail and the Deadman's pass trail were very approachable even for our young... More

One of my favorite hikes, ever. The first mile or so I could take or leave - it's average at best. The resort is there but there are other things to look at. However, it pales in comparison to the majesty of the forest beyond. The towering Ponderosa pines made my heart sing and I found myself smiling at just... More

The beginning of the trail is pretty good and fun, but after a while, you hike in the woods. At the end of the trail, there is really nothing special to see from our point of view (it's a canyon in the woods). We were not going to Arizona to hike in the forest, but in the desert and on... More

We started on the Boynton Canyon trail for about 2 miles. Not difficult with easy access from the parking lot. Restroom was available in the parking lot if needed. trail had markers to keep you on track. We turned back and started up the Boynton Vista to the vortex location. Easy to find, so just sat and took in the... More

Accesible trails open to indescribable vistas, the rock formations, residues of millennia of oceanic activity are endlessly fascinating

This trail has amazing views, nature and you really feel like you're away from civilization, though probably only 15 mins from town. It also is known to have spiritual power. I felt more grounded there and also felt spirits of ancestors... some areas felt like they are meant only for ritual and prayer. Go there quietly and with respect. For... More

Quite an easy and not steep hike. At the end, the canyon closes into a forested area. Cooler in the summer months, when ch is important in our woods! ❤

This is my 2nd most favorite hike in Sedona (first being Westfork) there is a vortex here, about 7+ miles round trip. Go all the way to the end, a bit of a climb in last .25 mile but really worth it. Fall is best time to go when colors are changing.
