About
Take one of America’s most scenic drives—the 30-mile route from Flagstaff to Sedona—to Oak Creek Canyon. You can get a detailed map from the ranger station before you set off. Watch as towering red cliffs give way to lush forested canyons along the drive. There’s so much to do once you’re there: cool off at the swimming holes, fish for your own meal, hike the popular West Fork trail, ride a jeep or ATV, or hop on a hot air balloon ride. Pick up some Native American crafts at Oak Creek Vista.

Beautiful, Scenic Drive north of Sedona, AR
The drive through Oak Creek Canyon was just delightful! It was well worth the time to take this scenic route on our way from Sedona to the Grand Canyon. If you like photography, be sure to stop right before crossing the Midgely Bridge for awesome views of the historic bridge and the canyon below! Build in some time to take your shoes off and wade in the cool creek water! This drive was simply delightful!

    Such beauty and wonder
We drove through the canyon on highway 89A. The views are so beautiful. We did a stop at Slide Rock National Park for a few hours and it was so amazing. Also stopped at a Dairy Queen in the canyon to cool down (LONG waits just for ice cream). We traveled through the canyon 3 of the 4 days we were staying in Sedona. Just breathtaking

    Beautiful scenery!
This was our favorite hike in the Sedona area! Trail followed the creek and you crossed the water 13 times - some much more difficult than others! Parking is very limited so plan accordingly. This is a popular hike and well worth your time.

Very Busy on a Sunday afternoon.
This beautiful drive is a must do if in the Flagstaff area. Arizona route 89A heads south out of town and into Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona. The rocks are colorful and there are many really cool formations. There are also some camping and picnicking areas as the road runs through the Coconino National Forest. We also spotted a lot of places to stay and restaurants. In Sedona itself it was extremely busy so we just turned back to Flagstaff

The only reason I rated it 4 out of 5 was that it was cold the day we were there, which isn't fair to Sedona. One of the most beautiful places in America. Plenty of shops, friendly people and breathtaking scenery!

The description said the distance is 3.1 miles, but that's only one way. We traveled with teenage girls. We did not know that we would have to wade through the river on slippery stones and trees. My daughter got her feet wet, so the hike became a real challenge for both adults and teenagers. The environment is amazingly beautiful. In some places it is really warm, in some places it is very cold, there is even snow. My advice is to walk this trail with walking sticks, they will help you wade across the river. The end goal was nothing special, we were all very disappointed. Advice, follow the signs, because in some places you can really go the wrong way.

Taking a drive through Oak Creek Canyon, is like driving through a photograph. Make sure you stop and put your feet in the cool creek waters.
The views reminded me of a smaller version of the grand canyon. The drive is simply breathtaking! Dont miss it......

Keep your camera out! This is some of the most beautiful country we have ever seen. Even if you don’t get out, drive it! You’ll be glad you did.

The intention to sit and relax by the waters was accomploshed on our way back to the hidden parts of #OakCreek. We lounged beside some boulders, enjoyed the cool water of the flowing creek surrounded by singing birds. We were lucky to find a secluded and private spot to cap the night off during our stay here. If there's one reason you'd see us back in Sedona, it'll be this!
