We drove through Oak Creek Canyon to return to Flagstaff from Sedona. The views were breathtaking, especially along the bridge. Lots of winding roads along the canyon coupled with freezing rain made the drive a bit stressful at times.

We had done several of the hikes in Sedona and thought we had seen most of the red rocks. We had some extra time on our last day so we thought we'd drive up to Oak Creek Canyon to see what we could see from the road. It was raining and hailing this day so we did not see ourselves... More

The drive through Oak Creek Canyon offers some of the most beautiful scenery you will find. The drive is very windy and at a number of points, high elevation with looks into the Canyon far below. It takes about an hour to go from Sedona to just south of Flagstaff, and is worth the time to do.

Dramatic landscape with giant rock cliffs and the Oak Creek water. If you begin in Uptown Sedona, you will see the vegetation change from high desert to tall pines. Road is crowded on weekends and holidays but worth the trip. Hiking, dining and camping and sheer beauty, make it an Arizona FAVORITE attraction. Be advised that the upper portion of... More

Gorgeous area. Enjoyed our drive through the canyon. Saw many quaint little places to stay or dine. Glad we choose to go off the beaten path and ditch the highway. You might get slowed by traffic in the winding roads, but who cares? Take in the scenery.

Beautiful peaceful drive. There is construction going in in mid March 2017, bringing it down to one lane and causing traffic backups. We were on it in the morning so it wasn't so bad, but by noon it was crazy. Lots of places to pull over and quaint old stores to stop at.

Went with my dad and just kind of cruised for the day. The drive was very scenic with plenty of pull offs for pictures or just to chill and have a sandwich.

We took this route from Enchantment Resort in Sedona north to the Grand Canyon. Very scenic two lane roadway in fairly good shape but has many serious curves and bends...definitely not a freeway!
