This wonderful place is an absolute treasure. The tour is so up close and personal that when it is through you will be emotionally vested in these animals forever. I keep wanting to go back...the work these people do is so important that it makes the visitor want to become involved. This is a must see for locals and visitors.

Who knows what you will find next when you start looking in your own backyard. Not far from my home is a lovely spacious area where a woman and her love of animals great and small have led her to dedicate her land and life to the care and rescue of animals who were mistreated by humans, hit by cars,... My husband booked a tour on a Saturday morning on the last day of our trip. I'm so glad he did! The tour was incredibly informative and an opportunity to be up close to so many gorgeous animals. Don't miss a chance to go see this special place.

We had a phenomenal experience with our guide, Diane, at SWCC. We were able to get up close and personal with these animals to learn about their specific rescue stories. Very kid friendly.

Attended a great fund raiser "Dining with Wolves" sponsored by My Sister's Attic. A marvelous evening with a fantastic dinner. Exceptional presentation, focused primarily on the efforts to protect and restore the Mexican grey wolf. The tour thru the habitat was amazing... Never been closer to the animals. The docents were fantastic. What a wonderful evening!

I love what they do for the animals. Being able to see so many up close is a special treat. They are truly spectacular creatures. The guides do a fantastic job educating the group on the animals. But they also talk about the stories behind them and the misguided people who try to keep them as pets etc. i personally... More

Can't say enough good about this place (read the myriad other reviews for great details). Our visit today followed a vandalism attack this past weekend that will cost them about $2,000 to repair. Then, I see on Facebook just now that their website has been hacked. Who would be so heartless to attack this organization that rescues, rehabs, then releases... More

Five of us visited the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center on a Monday at 10:00am in March, 2017. We made reservations online about a week in advance. They will allow about 20 people on each tour so it's a good idea to book well in advance of your intended visit. The facility sits on ten (10) acres just south of Rio... More

After driving down a dirt road and wondering what have we done now, we were more than pleasantly surprised to enter the Wildlife Center. We were met and led on our tour by an awesome guide, A,y. She was so knowledgeable and enjoyable, we were disappointed when the tour ended. If you're in the Scottsdale area...this is a must. Be... More

We thought it would be cool to visit at night considering all the nocturnal predators. But as luck would have it, our usually clear skies clouded up that night. Volunteers were our guides. We were surprised that many of the animals we saw weren't native to this area. But circumstances dictated that the owners take some badly cared for animals.... More
