This is a comfortable, quiet place with wide paths for a leisurely stroll, bicycling, and place to walk a dog. There are many native plants with nice descriptions, and explanations on what and how to grow them. Some of the paths are lighted for early morning walks, or evening enjoyment.

This landscape adjoins the Chapparal Park and the local water treatment facility. Both areas are well laid out and provided a living guide to the area's floral and fauna

This is a very interesting garden with lots of great plants, metal sculptural elements and creative use of rock.

I had been going to chaparral Park for many years before I noticed this garden tucked away in the NE corner near the dog park. A nice addition to an already terrific park.

This is right behind the ball park & dog park. Well done signs to explain the watering system & suggestions for planting arid soil plants most efficiently.

Came across this while walking along N Hayden park land. It is located at the back of the park behind the off leash dog runs. Quite an assortment of plants and most are marked, which is helpful.

As a Scottsdale resident, I go for my morning walks in Chaparral Park almost every day. And as part of my walk, I wander through the Xeriscape Garden and enjoy the serenity and beauty of all of the many hundreds of desert shrubs, cacti and trees that have been assembled in such an attractive manner. If I lived in a... More

As residents of a state prone to drought, we found this rather extensive xeriscape installation inspiring. Birds love it especially. Plaques explain flora and also techniques for trapping as much rainwater as possible to recharge underground water tables and to prevent runoff and erosion. Very pretty rockwork in the various tiered beds and walls. This is adjacent to a popular... More

Unless u have a dog and want to walk them I was disappointed. The trail cuts through baseball diamonds and at the end is a dog park. There are some pretty plants along the way and there are restrooms which is a plus but if you want a unique outdoor experience this is not the place to go.

Off the beaten path come be cooled in the exciting garden in Chaparral Park. Learn about the many plants that can flourish in a xeriscape environment.
