This is the oldest church in downtown Scottsdale. It was built in 1930 by a group of Mexican workers. When I arrived, the church was closed but the outside is very picturesque

Good history, video, and docents. Amazing the history of the parish and building without machinery and with Arizona heat.

We have been coming to Scottsdale for years but missed this wonderful place. It is the oldest standing church in downtown Scottsdale and has been renovated with loving care (donate on your way out). It is so cool and serene inside. The altar, the station of the cross by a local artist will touch your soul. The volunteers are so helpful and friendly.

I cannot believe we missed it for so many years. Go.

While by some standards, this church is not that old (built in 1933), it's old by Arizona standards. Built on the edge of what used to be the Barrio in Scottsdale, it's been meticulously restored. Definitely worth a visit.

The Old Adobe Mission is one stop I never fail to make when in the Valley of the Sun. It is so historical, a place of worship yet my most vivid reality of the Mission is the peace it brings. Not a person of faith? Catch the emotion of the peaceful setting, sit for a moment, collect your thoughts and relish the quiet. A person of faith? You are in God's house, a historical center of life for many, a source of meaning and making sense of who we are and why. Pray, view, sit, be introspective. Pray.

Peace be with you my friends.
