Since I don't walk very well, we just drove through and looked at all the beautiful rock formations and visited the Ranger Station and had a nice visit with John and Tim. We saw some beautiful reptiles there on display.

It was a great place to meet other birders who share what they saw and helped us to complete our list.

We went in March and there was very little in the bird viewing arena, but there is amazing scenery in this area and a great place to visit for everyone that appreciates the outdoors.

Cave Creek Canyon isn't on your way to anywhere, out in the "middle of nowhere" basin-&-range country on the AZ / NM border. But for birding, camping, hiking & simply relaxing it's a destination unto itself. Beautiful, burbling Cave Creek flows down this mostly narrow canyon amid the Chiricahua Mountains, enveloped by many different types of evergreens & an interesting... More

A beautiful peaceful area in southern Arizona. Quaint buildings, beautiful canyons and trails. The Chiricahuas are one of the wonderful 'sky islands' in this area north of the border

This is one of the best areas for sightseeing, birding, hiking and relaxation. We camped and enjoyed every minute of it. Clean, well kept campsites surrounded by beautiful trees and the canyon walls. Many great birding spots can be found in the canyon and nearby.

A wonderful place to locate the elegant trogon, along with many other SE Arizona endemic species. Also terrific for finding local reptiles.

I was with the Carolina Bird Club and we saw a pair of elegant trogons, a target bird for this place and Arizona woodpeckers. The scenery is spectacular.

Our trip to the Chiricahua Mountains which is nestled in the Coronado National Forest was the most amazing adventure! Wild Javelina, White Tailed Deer, Wild Turkey, birds of all kinds, Skunk, the occasional Bear, the occasional snake, lizards abundant, springs and creeks flowing with water this time of year, I recommend it highly to the outdoors enthusiast, we visited 4... We took the South Fork Trail and enjoyed the hike. There were more folks hiking and riding bicycles than we expected to see, which was good because the birders were happy to share their sightings.
