This is in my backyard, and there is not a day that goes by when I am not in awe of this mountain. It rises out of the desert, ever changing as the light changes, with "the praying monk" on the west end. It is dramatic, and has beautiful hiking trails. If you are hiking, please come prepared with water,... More

Went up the Eastside. Hell of a hike and worth the effort. Not for faint of trail. Amazing views of the whole valley and a good chance to get a lay of the land. Wear good hikers or at least grippy trail shoes.

Such a great hike but harder than the guide we got from the hotel rated it as. The final 3rd of the hike was very steep and difficult. Also, be prepared for crowds of people as this is an extremely popular spot to hike. You will be parking far away and I'd bring twice the water you expected to bring.... More

I hiked Echo Ridge by myself and had a great time. I went at 11:00am, and took my time. It will work your legs! And you don't have to worry, since there are so many other people around. Wear good hiking shoes, and bring water.

We had an outstanding hike up Camelback Mountain. Definitely strenuous, but well worth it. Be careful going up and especially going back down, but take your time and watch your footing. Definitely recommended for hikers who want to gain a lot of elevation.

This is a good hiking place if you get a parking. The problem is with parking at the foothill. I mentioned it is a moderate climb but I am a regular hiker. People who are not regular will find this very difficult. It is steep and doesn't ease off at all. The sunset is gorgeous. However please avoid the summer... More

Take some wine and a snack or 2 and settle down for an hour or so and watch a beautiful Arizona sunset! The most splendid way to end a day

Challenging adventure. Worth the effort. But please be careful and know your limits. Extremely difficult at some points. Saw few people got stranded and extracted by helicopter. Bring plenty of water.

First of all, this hike is more of a rock scramble than a hike so should not be taken lightly! I saw too many people with no water or hats and clearly thinking this was just a stroll up to a lookout - it is not. The workout is without though and if you actually take the time to look... More
