Just returned from Family Fun Night Water Color class with John Erwin at Shemer Art Center. Had so much fun learning how to water color in 2 hours. What a great way to spend a hot evening in Phoenix. Sooooo want to do another class!

Thoroughly enjoyable. Located in what was once a private home on lovely grounds. Small, intimate museum that focuses mostly on sculpture - both large and small. Donation requested but not required for entry. Free parking.

Shemer Art Center is one of those hidden treasures right under your nose. It's a great place to take a art class, take in one of there art festivals, shop for gifts at there gift shop and enjoy the featured artist in the 3 galleries. Bring a sack lunch and enjoy it on there grounds. November 1st is Sunday at... More

We went for the Micro Dwell exhibit 2015. We really enjoyed that particular exhibit and found it interesting. We did catch some of the sculptures they had in the garden at the entrance but apart from those and the MicroDwell exhibit we didn't really see much other art. The museum itself was really small. It was easy to get to... More

We really enjoyed touring the wide range of little houses that are displayed to demonstrate sustainable living. It is amazing to see spaces as small as 64 sq. Ft. that includes everything that one needs. There is one partially completed house that i being built out of Styrofoam, another that looks like a tent and yet another that is on wheels... More

We did not love the art at the Shemer Art Center, but we found the micro dwelling exhibit fascinating. There were several examples of different types of very tiny dwelling and we enjoyed seeing how one could maximize the living space in them.

My husband and I attended the Micro Dwell 2014 event at the Shemer Art Center in Phoenix in the Arcadia neighborhood. Even though we had our young daughter and a large stroller, we were welcome at the facility. The staff was friendly and helpful and seemed very proud to be working or volunteering at the event. After viewing the innovative... More

I recently took a metal and enamel class here with Larry as the instructor. The class was great, as well as the instruction. The grounds and historic home are beautifully located at the foot of nearby mountain ranges. I would recommend a class or at least a visit to anyone interested in the arts.
