Recommend going first thing in the morning to avoid shopping in the humid and crowded spaces. For tourists be aware that kids/adults will try to sell to you at your car, in some cases they are actually selling stuff a bit cheaper than the stalls. Have a good look around and compare the prices but remember this is how people survive so don't be too much of a stinge.great cultural pieces to take home is found at lots of the stalls!

I enjoyed this market more than the old market. The atmosphere was same and there was slightly more variety on offer. It was airy and comfortable to walk around.

The vendors were friendly, honest and just lovely to deal with.

I recommend visiting and we will visit again when in Apia.

Best reason to visit Samoa: Not many people have been there. Samoa is a natural untouched paradise. Good food, nice people and everywhere you look would be a postcard photo. It's easy an cheap to get around. Buy some coconut oil to bring home, Breakfast every morning with the fresh fruit was the best. And if you like fish and chips... eat at Top Taste! Beaches are not crowded, but don't get sunburned like I did!

Loved this market and the people are really friendly. If you are going to feed the turtles, this is where we stopped so we could buy papaya. Cost $1 Tala for small or $2 Tala for large papaya. Tell them you are going to feed turtles and they will cut them appropriately for you so you can hand feed. Lots of parking. Remember you can bargain for souvenirs!

A place to put on your list to visit. I enjoy the walkthrough of this market as one side you have local produce and the other local art pieces and attire. The people in the market was some of the friendliest people you will meet, their genuine smiles and willingness to share their talent through arts and craft & souvenirs for tourist.

a lot better than the old markets and a lot more open we had a walk around and purchased a few things we found you get a lot of pressure put on you and you cant get away you even get pressure sitting in your car from heaps of kids selling all sorts of stuff but I guess they have to make a living some how and 3 tala per hour as a wage would not go far

It's always enjoyable to wander around a local fruit and veg market to say the amazing variety of produce available. I didn't realise there were so many different types of bananas! The avocado were huge, coconuts of course were plentiful. Try a fresh coconut drink for 2 tala, straight out of the coconut with a straw or some roasted bread fruit.
The people are friendly and not pushy.

There's other wares to buy as well- jewellery (necklaces between 5-15 tala), sarong, wooden products, bags etc

Worth a wander around and of course free
This is walking distance from town

This is just off Fugalei Street, opposite Farmer Joe's supermarket. Parking is free and the market is undercover, and open every day, from aboutp 6am to 6pm.. All sorts of fresh fruit and vegetables are sold by local farmers. There's also plenty of T-shirts, sarongs, dresses, shirts etc. You can also buy freshly cooked Samoan snacks and ice cold coconut milk.

We visited on a hot day so the fact this market is covered is a blessing. Samoan shirts were WST50 compared to triple that in tourist shops. Lots of trinkets and fresh fruit and vegetables too.

We used a Freddie’s taxi from there to Tauamesina Resort for WST6
