To be done, to feel the pain of people in the beginning of century (but for which purpose ? ELectricity ?). Good trip, beautiful landscape. Maybe expensive, but when you come from Europe, it worth it !

A very nice experience in Ushuaia - historical narrow gauge steam railway line built by prisoners in the former penal colony. The trains are in very good condition and although it is a short journey on the train - it is very pleasant. However the commentary on the train was solely in Spanish when we were there - but we... This can be either a wonderful, or not so wonderful experience. The train cars are rather small, but the noise can bounce throughout the train. There are either 12 or 16 people in each car. If people are talking, you cannot hear the information about Tierra del Feugo coming from the speaker. It is broadcast in English and in Spanish,... More

We were very impressed with the quality of this experience. The trains were spotless and shiny, the station spacious and with an interesting museum, and the recorded commentary really brought the history of the train, prison and region to life. The scenery along the way is very beautiful. Our only complaint was the cafe in the station that charged US$8.50... More

We booked a tour from our cruise ship that included this train ride and a visit to the Tierra del Fuego National Park. If you want to see the Park (and you should) the option is to drive. One way or the other, you will reach the so called "End of the World" at its southernmost point. The railway uses... More

Need transport from Ushuaia town - there is a local bus but we took taxi which added further to the cost! The train ticket PLUS entry fee to the National Park made this an expensive outing even though we did it independently rather than taking an organised tour, The train station is pleasant and offers opportunity to see the locomotives... The train ride is fun and educational, and it gives a great overview of the National Park. Perfect for kids or people who have reduced mobility.

Begins with a very nice station, interesting with live entertainment, nice gift shop, snacks, very nice bathrooms, lots of history. The train itself is (as advertised) small and a little crowded. A historical recorded monologue narrarates the train ride. There is a midway stop with pretty scenery. But overall for the price, the trip was lacking . Perhaps if the... More
