Great views and hiking

Hiked Hito XXIV trail Jan 15 2017 to Chilean border. Wonderful. Some rock and stream muck navigation. Well marked trail. Clear day. Would not be much fun in rain.

Took a tour of this park after our Antarctica cruise. Very beautiful area. Dynamic mountains reliefs and alot of bird wildlife. Got within a few feet of a Caracara at the visitors center. Saw several species of raptors, geese, parrots, etc. Recommended

We did a half day tour here and enjoyed walking along the pretty trails. We visited Ensenada Bay and the end of the world post office and we had a nice walk along the bay here, admiring the crystal clear water. Another walk was at the place where the beavers had built their dams. The walk at Lapataia bay was... More

Beautiful trails. Although most were short, the coastal trail and the trail to the Chilean border are several hours, and involve some uneven ground. We rented a car in Ushuaia which allowed us to park at each trailhead.

Beautiful views of the forest and mountains in the park. Good areas for easy hikes (probably more difficult hikes, too, but we didn't do them). It snowed most of the time we were there which added to the beauty. There is a post office selling postcards and stamps if you want to mail something from the end of the world.

Get there as early or stay as late as possible. Some great walking along the coast. The restaurant is good but very expensive inside the park so bring your own food if you're on a budget. Understandable considering where it is but something like $15 U.S. for a bowl of lentil and lamb stew.

We planned to get the bus (round trip 400 pesos) which leaves on the hour from near the Albatros hotel. However we were offered a free trip to compensate us for our transfer from the airport having failed to turn up. The actual trip, ours was in a minibus, took 5.5 hours, the reason it says 4 hours is that... More

Don't get me wrong it is magnificent ! You enjoy the hikes you do (though everytime it takes less time than indicated, which is good actually). But how much price it takes you is insane. From the bus, plus the parc entry, to hike in a natural area, Argentinian are crazy with their prices !

Having visited the end of the road in the Denali National Park in Alaska it was cool to reach the other end of the road in the south. The National Park has no big mammals (or we did not see any) but there is attractive scenery in the form of Southern beech forests , lakes , mountains and coast. Snow-capped... More

If you go with a small group and a knowledgeable tour guide you will enjoy this visit a lot. We saw different kinds of birds and a rabbit. We also learned a little about the flora.
