Pinguins

For those who, like me, never saw that kind of birds, its a great opportunity. They are all there, quiet, on the rocks. Tour of channel Beagle pass there.

Catamaran cruises are a must in Ushuaia! You will see many birds, cormorans, sealions and penguins. Animals are so used to the boats that they won't bother, so you can get real close looks. 3 hours ride to the penguin island is 1500 pesos + harbour fee.

a amazing array of wildlife to be seen n the island well worth the boat trip down the beagle channel - the weather can be changeable so choose you day wisely as some boats cannot go this far

Fascinating to see all of the variety of birds on the island. And there are just so many. It's like they came out to watch us go by.

With so many Birds, Cormorants especially it is a dreamscape for photographing the birds in action. They are real show offs and great fun to just watch through your binoculars so you feel like you are sitting next to them! The tour boats get close and spin around so everyone gets a chance to see!

Your Beagle Channel Cruise takes you to this island and stops by it for a good 15-20 minutes fgor you to take pictures of the animal life in this island. The power4ful nauseating stench overwhelms you but if you are a wild life fan, you would be rewarded amply.

It's not as good as volunteer point at Falkland Islands. I would have more impressed had I not seen Stanley first. There are a lot of birds here though.

The island is full of mainly black and white cormorants. You can get close up by boat. You can see several bird's nests in December. Not sure about the rest of the year. They look like penguins from far away. BUT these cormorants can fly!
