AMAZING PLACE. Bring ARS 600 in cash to enter the park; 500 more for a boat ride. Wear shoes with good traction as the pasarelas can get slippery if there's rain/snow/ice. Gorgeous place; do a tour with Say Hueque travel. Bring lunch or buy lunch...More

The Glacier is a must see, my son walked the glacier with a tour and I did the viewing same day. Depends on the time you have the glacier hike is 12 hours. We both loved our time t the glacier. Amazing views and sounds!

If you don't go to the park, you are missing out on the entire point of the town. Stay an extra day (if you need to) AND GO. You don't want to miss it!

Awe inspiring visit to the Moreno glacier, a wonder of the natural world. Took the boat ride to visit the glacier by water, then walked on the series of walkways to get ready close to the glacier. Spectacular

The Glaciar Perito Moreno tour was simply amazing. We walked on the actual glacier surface and it was a unique experience. The tour guides were amazing, very knowledgeable, fun and accommodating. The tour included the ice shoes which are very heavy but essential to be...More

We went in late winter. As you walk up and around on the metal pathways, the wind is howling from above the glacier towards you and its freezing cold, even for Canadians. There is no place to warm up except to go all the way...More

Hi, I am planning to go to El Calafate for three days. Morning 9am of 7th July I'll be reaching there and shall return on 9th July evening 6pm. I have ceratin queries:- 1. What are the excurssions I must go for? 2. What the excurssions are called in terms of Tourism companies? 3. I just drafted to visit Boat ride and national park on first day (What is the name of this excursion, I dont know. Please help.). On second day, planning to trek for Fitz Roy. On third day, Perito Moreno and walking on the glacier. Is thi sfeasible? 4. Do I need any special shoes for Fitz Roy trekking? If yes, then how to manage for only one day trek? I mean , is it possible to rent? 5. Is it ok, to take any packages from the travel agencies or just use public transport? 6. What are the names of all the excurssions, I have listed for three days? 7. Approx, how much shall be the expenditure for the all three days? As, I am travelling with my one friend an dour hotel and flight tickets are booked, is the renting of the car good option? Will it be cheap? Please guide.

RHe boat ride is definitely worth paying the price and going on. You can actually hear and see the glaciers cracking and falling down. It was a great sight to see and film.

Hi, we are going to be in Argentina in two weeks and we plan to visit El Calafate. We have limited time most likely two nights maybe three, could anyone recommend a tour company/guide/outfit that arranges small group or our own excursion? We are four travelling so it may be a possibility if not not too exorbitant!? Or is it possible to engage a guide and self drive? I’ve read some people saying you need to be very fit to do the glacier walk....I’m an active early 50’s but obese. I consider myself moderately fit for my age group we did go to Machu Pichu two years ago I did trek for three hours! But no glacier! Is it slippery? Is it possible to do the boat ride in the evening? I understand it gets dark very late during their summer NOW. How far is Torres Del Paine National Park, Chile? Is it possible to do a day trip? Thank you very much for any helpful info. It all seems so beautiful can’t wait to make this trip with my partner, daughter, and aunt. Very fit 70 year old aunt! Thank you.

We had limited time as well. We didn’t do the ice hike because we felt like we could see more of the glacier(perito Mereno) from the park & the cruise. We love hiking but felt that it wouldn’t be as fun in a big group. We... More
