Arrayanes Forest is located on the Quetrihué Peninsula and is named after the rare Arrayán trees that grow along the northern shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake.

Together with approximately 200 people you arrive by boat. With the crowd you go for a 25 minutes walk in a mythical forest. All people walk anti-clockwise. At the end of the walk is a simple cafeteria. We went for a coffee. What a mistake! The coffee was poor and seriously overpriced.

The forest in the cinnamon-colored trees was well worth the walk.

It's a very short circuit but a chilled place to walk around with good photo opportunities. The actual house gets very busy so tough to get a good picture. An easier trek after we did the Isla Victoria. The forrest can be done in 20 minutes.

Actually both. I suggest getting there by boat and returning on foot. If you do this wait for the crowd to do the round in the park and when they leave, you will have the place for yourself. Then you return and enjoy the lovely walk back where you will find some equally impressive Arrayanes.

Take this walking tour through the forest with the red bark myrtle trees that are concentrated only in this area in the world. We had a wonderful guide to explain everything.

the root is awsome! From bariloche to Villa la Angostura with the view of the steppes, a one-hour cruise along the ancient trees of the peninsula coming to azur water of hte lake. And 12 km walk through this mythical forest.

These are almost mythical trees natural to the area so one must spend time admiring them and benefitting from them.

Due to the drought of 2012 and 2013 many trees dried out or turned grey. Not a Bambi experience at all because they let the forest grow again with other plants. But the Arayana tree itself is quite extraodinary. The whole trip from Bariloche with Cau Cau was very worthwile in Total.

When you get of the boat you have 60 minutes before you have to re-board. I thought this would not be enough time but the "walk" through the forest is so short that you finish it in 20 minutes . If you are active I would recommend renting a bike or hiking to get to the forest rather than the boat.

We made this excursion as we were told that "el bosque de los Arrayanes" was very nice and unique. And it was right !
After a nice way by boat we took our way back walking, and that was quite an incredible walk, many different lanscape and views and such quietness, it was just incredible.
When you arrive at the boat stop, make sure to take a coffee and a part of cake at the little chalet that is in the midele of the trees, so romantic and and nice ! By the way, thèses trees were si nice that Disney choose to draw them in the Bambi story.
Just look at my pictures if you want to see the different types of landscapes you can see along the path.
Know that this path is not suited for all, as it is quite long (12 km) and has some pathes that rise quite hardly.
