Good day but we had to pay to get in the cafe/cable car station at the top

We drove half way up to the area and then walked to the cable car station at the top. The walk was lovely but quite steep, but worth it because of the views. Unfortunately when we... read more

We drove half way up to the area and then walked to the cable car station at the top. The walk was lovely but quite steep, but worth it because of the views. Unfortunately when we got to the top, we were told we would have to pay $250 ARS each to go into the cable car station to get... More

We decided to visit Cerro Otto knowing we wanted a panoramic view but not sure of which one in the area. Our hotel recommended Cerro Otto and we booked an afternoon time with the bus leaving Bariloche. Wear shoes that you can hike/walk comfortably in! There is a fabulous walk/hike up to great views that we were ill equipped for... More

I was in Bariloche in early March and unfortunately the weather was not good and prohibited me to going to the top of Cathedral for a trek. Instead went to the top of Cerro and took the hike out to the high rock formations and great views of the lakes. However a fast moving snow storm moved in and I... More

By coincidence learned that our guides partner did paragliding. Got tempted and enjoyed the beauty of the Cerritos Otto before jumping into the deep . Great experience.

We were lucky enough to be staying in an Air BnB about half way up Cerro Otto. This meant we could get to a walking path under the cable car quite easily. It took us about an hour from there to get to the top and it was a tough slog as the path is mainly loose rocks and sand.... More

We took the gondola up and it was OK, but getting old compared to like services elsewhere. On top, the views are fantastic - not to be missed. On the other hand, the 'museum' there, with a statue of David can be easily missed. David?? The coffee shop was closed so we had a light lunch at the revolving restaurant.... More

25 minutes of medjum average hill. Walking between trees all way up. The lakes view up is very Nice. I did that on 0830, was empty and quiet. No water along the way and up if the restaurant is closed.

There is free bus from Bariloche, but we paid for cable car in both directions. Cable car is old and, noisy and not enough transparent, but on the top you have really great views reminding Queenstown New Zealand Skyline views. Recommending 50 min track (one direction) to Habsburg stone. There are more views there.

You have to make an investment to take the cable car ($350 in February 2017) but it's not worth going on your own. With the ticket Tou have access to the spinning restaurant that is really great. The food prices once there are regular. The view is incredible. I highly recommend waiting for a table next to the window, or... More

While you are on top, do the treks that are around, it is a must. That said, it is a bit costly, but I think it still worth it.
