This modern museum takes you to review part of the Argentine history and understand the importance of these archeological findings. Mummies are extraordinarily well kept! Worth visiting.

but it is worth the $10 to see the mummified Incan's and their history. Makes you grateful for the world you live in.

Only 2 rooms and not much to see, other than the mummified child. The entrance was 100 ARS which was not worth at all!

Small, but nicely done museum. The highlight was the mummies and learning about their discovery and preservation.

One of our tour guides suggested we visit, and I think it was worth it. Quite a quick exhibition and be warned that most but not all of the exhibitions have English as well as Spanish. Only 100 pesos for foreigners.

A small museum with a very sad topic, but it is in-missable. The sacrificed children' grave goods are in astounding condition and the mummy tastefully displayed. Much food for though. Try to time your visits to avoid groups as they spoil the atmosphere - guides yap on while your are trying to concentrate. I'd suggest watching the groups enter and... More

Really interesting museum just off the main square of Salta. The staff on entry are helpful and provided an English language handout that covered most of the museum exhibits. Also inside many of the displays had an English language translation so the museum was very accessible for our understanding. The contents here are just unique and really interesting, not least... Fascinating!! Went with a UK school trip of mid to older teenage boys who whizzed through the museum but still found it interesting... the whole place has been extremely well organised both from a visitor's point of view and from a conservation aspect, and there is a real sense that high altitude archeology is the driving force behind the museum...
