This plaza is very impressive and has a great combination of restaurants, coffee shops, stunning colonial architecture, and lovely benches to relax on.

The main square so lots of people - relaxing, talking, and strolling. Gives one a good feel of a Colonial city.

Architectually beautiful but unfortunatelly does not feel safe as full of homeless and kids begging. The restaurants are not the best available. wort going a bit further afield.

Enjoyable walk around and through this lovely Plaza several times. On one side as we have found in majority of South America countries one finds a key feature -- a Cathedral. Popular throughout the day with local folk.

This is the main square in Salta - it includes the Cathedral, El Cabildo, shops, restaurants, the Museum of High Altitude, the American cultural centre and so on. Go upstairs in MacDonalds for an interesting view of one side of the square - and enjoy a mocha frappuccino while you are there!

Beautiful central square in the heart of Salta, place of meeting, rest, and starting point of any activity for tourists and visitors. Surrounded by restaurants, and beginning of pedestrian shopping streets, this square is very nice and quiet, full of pigeons, where you can relax and have a cup of coffe o glass of beer..

Make your way here to the heart of town and take a while to sit in the shade and watch the world go by. From here it is not far to find a coffee, beer or meal or step into the adjacent Cathedral. ATM points are close by and an abundance of taxis and shops

I recommend a visit at 6pm - 7pm to this place. I visited on a Saturday evening. It's the first time I've heard and seen a plaza's church's bells being rung. There were about 3 persons involved in this activity and the music from it was quite unique. Also, the park had a working water fountain with potable water at... More

It is THE square in the city! It contains and is surrounded by cafes, restaurants and souvenier shops! Great place to sit on a bench and people watch!

The perfect place for people watching while having a coffee or a beefstake. You are very likely to see a local parade, all of them pass the square. Can easily imagine how it used to be 300 years ago.
