Had time to spare in Salta so we decided to take this tram ride on a whim. Thought it would be too touristy but I must say we had an enjoyable afternoon. The tram itself is pleasant (great for kids) and the summit has lovely...More

Lonely Planet calls it. Tourist trap. They are crazy. It was worth every penny. A bus takes you to the train which is at 12,700 feet. A guide on the bus and train speaks English and Spanish. Each bus has medical staff for altitude sickness....More

Inexpensive and quick way to get to the lookout point over Salta. They don't take any credit or debit card payment unless it's the local Visa Card and not the ones we had from the UK. Best to have cash. Amazing views from the cable...More

We took the steps up and the tram down. Good views make sure you enter and sit on the right side for your trip down to get the best view of salta

We enjoyed the ride and the views from the top balcony, the park also has a very nice fountain and a walking trail. At then top there is regional market with all kinds of clothing and souvenirs from the area and a cafeteria.

Otherwise horrifying, despite the logic of it being quite safe, dangling on a wire as you are hauled up the side of a seriously big hill is madness personified: great views to be sure but not if the vertigo reduces you to semi rational jellied...More

Nice ride that overlooks the city, the park on top of the hill is very pretty, and has a couple of shops selling the typical tourist trinkets. Also has a snack shop. One cool thing is there is a wine seller that sells pretty good...More

I would recommend using the cable car at least in one direction if planning a trip to mount San Bernardo. We decided to take the cable car on the way up and walk back. The day we went up we managed to get a car...More
