    The highlight of our trip
We stayed at the property and did the lunch at the winery too. The lunch is great. We have been here before and the food is fantastic, wine is great, and the views are incredible. We highly recommend the hotel on site too. We had an upstairs room with huge views of the vineyard and mountains, fireplace in the room, and a huge bathtub with large picture window of the mountains. My wife really enjoyed the bath. The owners are phenomenal and spent a lot of time with us telling us about the history of the property and their family. We also had dinner at the hotel (Syrian food) and it was INCREDIBLE. Because it was winter they had fireplaces going everywhere and this was really the highlight of our trip!! We really enjoyed it there.

Lovely visit, learned a lot about the wine and family story
We tasted wines here, joining a small group of English-speaking tourists. It’s a lovely winery. The dining room, where lunch is served, is beautifully decorated, with colorful chairs. We did our tasting outside, where a nice set of outdoor couches had been set-up for the group, with a beautifully set table for the tasting. The tasting was led by a staff member of the winery. He did a nice job explaining the story of the winery (which has Argentinian owners) and then walking us through a tasting of about 5 wines, starting with a Sauvignon Blanc (somewhat unusual for the region) and ending with signature Malbecs. He opened a couple of extra things based on the interests of the group. He also did a really nice job answering the group’s questions; he really knew the wines (e.g., French v. American oak, amount of time in barrel, etc.). In general, we enjoyed the wines; the Grand Reserve Malbec was particularly excellent. They offer a range of wines at very accessible price points. At the end of the tour, we walked to one of the buildings where the barrels are stored and stainless steel tanks are located. Always fun to see the process in action. A nice experience! Definitely worth doing a tasting here—Argentinian ownership (with family pride), good wines, and a nice atmosphere.

    Relaxed, great wine, great people
This was one of the highlights of our time in Mendoza, partly because the wine was truly delicious, partly because the setting was so relaxed and beautiful, and partly because our guide Paula was just brilliant. So knowledgeable, but also very friendly and warm - she was a definite highlight. Can’t recommend this bodega enough, particularly over the stuffy, expensive bodegas that you’ll find in the area. I only wish we could have eaten here too!

    Incredible wine
We spent the afternoon at La Azul and had such a wonderful time! We reserved the 3-course tasting menu and had an amazing meal paired with incredible wine. Each wine was better than the last and we got to pace our lunch slowly to enjoy each course. Our waiter, Mariano, was very kind and friendly. We couldn’t decide which two of the three appetizers to choose from so he arranged for us to have all three! In addition, it was wonderful to learn about the history of the winery from our tour guide. After lunch and the tour, we spent more time just enjoying the nice patio and continuing to sip wine. We left with four bottles to take home. I’m glad we dedicated a full afternoon here to take it all in. Special thanks also to our tour guide, Paula, and huge kudos to Flavia, the wine maker. These were some of the best wines I tasted in all of Uco Valley!

The food wasn’t good, they do not were professionals as we expected and the final bill we paid wasn’t the same amount that they send me by email. The visit to the vineyard is a joke.

There is a reason this place is so highly rated. Bodega La Azul is 100% worth the hype and overall a perfectly enjoyable way to spend a long afternoon. We arrived for lunch via driver (highly recommended because you're going to want to indulge in all the wine available) and were promptly seated at a table overlooking the vineyard. Our server was attentive and super helpful. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu. I had the pork and my cousin had the steak. Both were delicious. The meal was paired perfectly with the house-wine, all of which were delicious. The restaurant is decorated beautifully, and the patio / garden where we sat was cool and breezy. We could not have been happier.

All-in-all, a perfect way to spend an afternoon. We left full, slightly buzzed, and ready for a nap.

This was the perfect finish to our first day of wine tastings. The atmosphere is super relaxed and you could spend a long time here just relaxing in the grass with friends over a couple of bottles of their delicious wines. The tasting was very relaxed in a good way and the tour was interesting. This is definitely the perfect place if you want to have a casual afternoon at a winery.

Worth the hype. The food, wine and service are all excellent (and lunch is very reasonably priced). It is essential to book in advance.

After 2 weeks in hectic Buenos Aires, we embarked on a degustation tour around the lovely city of Mendoza - west of B.A., and near the Chilean border. But after a while, we staled with the constant presentation of haute-cuisine, personality-free restaurants, and were then driven by our sympathetic and knowledgeable guide, Xavier, to La Azul Winery, in the famous Uco Valley.

Bingo!! Real food at last! Delicious Choripan (the genius who invented this simple snack, used for every conceivable occasion possible, should be given a medal). It's Chorizo sausage sliced and barbecued, in a bread bun, with the famous Chimichurri sauce - the rightful ambrosia of South America. Then follows the asado (main course barbequed meats) - scrumptious!

And then there's the wine - Mendoza is world-renowned for it's 900 wineries in the area, and especially for the gorgeous wines made from the red Malbec grape variety. La Azul makes several wines, but notably their Cabernet-Malbec flagship blend, and an outstanding unoaked pure Malbec (this is a must try!). Well, with all that terrific food and excellent wine down the hatch, and an unyielding eyeful of those stunning, snow-capped Andes Mountains, you feel a lot closer to your god - an everlasting experience.

La Azul is a simple winery: easy to drive past. But search among the plainness carefully, and you will find gold. For us, just this single experience, with all else to see in Argentina, is the one that's most fondly remembered.
