I visited Delta Terra in the Buenos Aires summer, and it was a really great way to escape the heat of the city. The journey to the reserve, by boat, was lovely and set the mood for a great day. We arrived shortly before the guided tour, and had time to have coffe at the restaurant in the reserve. The tour started right on time, and we walked around the paths within the reserve, while our guide Agustina told us about local flora and fauna. The tour has a very important conservation approach, with an emphasis on seeing and recognizing local species. We got to see turtles, lizards and birds, besides the vegetation. The guide answered everything we asked and after the tour we decided to stay and have lunch at the restaurant. The food was very good, and they had vegetarian options as well. After lunch we took the bus-boat back. A delightful experience.

The place is amazing, it is very nice settle, and worth doing the walk through the land. The only inconvenient I found, and I go there often, is that the food is good but not always have variety in the menu. People are very nice and friendly, I also go there rowing.... great stop.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Delta Terra. Though just a year old, this preserve in the middle of Tigre offers information about flora and fauna, activities such as hiking and kayaking, birdwatching, and a nice cafe. Our guide helped us spot and identify a number of birds and plants unique to the area. The food and service at the cafe were excellent. Accessibly only by boat, but the boat ride itself is half the adventure! A wonderful breath of fresh air and well worth the visit for nature lovers who want to get outside the bustle of Buenos Aires.

The natural reserve offers an intimate off-the-beaten-track quiet spot where to cool off, have lunch and learn about the natural environment of the Tigre Delta. The restaurant offers a lovely deck on the natural reserve, where you can eat under the shade. On top of that the staff is extremely friendly and there is the possibility of getting a guided tour in the eco park. Highly recommend if you want to get to know the Tigre delta and avoid big day-tourist masses.

If you feel like a break and enjoy green spaces and some birds then a trip to Delta Terra is an easy and enjoyable option. The reserve is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Take the bus to Barrancas de Belgrano and catch the train from there to Tigre (the last stop on the Mitre line). Use a SUBE card which you can buy at any kiosk (25 A$) and charge with money. A bus trip is about A$6.50, the train to Tigre about A$30 per person one way. You can also take the train from a station closer to BA central.
At Tigre go to the tourist office an buy a boat trip including Delta Terra with Sterla. It is a one hour trip in total and they will drop you at Delta Terra and collect you later. The cost of the boat plus Delta Terra is A$325 per person. Boats depart at 10.30, 12, 13.30 and 14.45. You can be collected From Delta Terra again at 16.30 and 17.30. It is an easy stroll (about 400m) from the jetty to the Delta Terra offices and restaurant. The info centre has interesting displays (all in Spanish) and there is a good, small restaurant. You can have a guided walk (they speak English) or walk on your own at your leisure. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and there are books on birds, the fauna etc etc lying in the restaurant available for perusal.
The boat trip allows one to see a bit of the Delta and the riverside homes and canals.
Tigre itself and a walk along the Rio Lujan rambla (promenade/boulevard) make for an enjoyable day out.

The good: place is beautiful. The bad: was told by sturla boat company that We were gonna be guided to delta terra by an agent, that there was gonna be food and that it was included. It was raining hard and when we got out of the boat to the pier there was nobody waiting for us so we walked a path we saw, needles to say we got lost for over 1 hour in the woods, rainy and getting dark fast. Knocked on a house and an amazing gentleman named ezequiel guided us back to delta terra. People at delta terra seemed surprised, they were friendly but cold at the same time. I sat down and ordered food they say no food was included in the tickets, so i bought pizza and hot chocolate, then left to the pier to head back. But no one asked to us if we needed a towel or not even a coffee on the house not even anyone offered to take us back to the pier.. not because we needed anything free but to the fact that we were tourist and were lost in a very dangerous woods trying to get to delta terra. I felt we were not important, not our lives, not our presence in there. Sturla sold us a tour with food and we got not guide person not food, and delta terra dont have communication with sturla at all so they dont know if anyone is coming to visit them or to know where the boat is at any given time. Otherwise, beautiful place.

wasn't sure what to think about this tour, however i was blown away by the way at which these people live along the river. the grocery boat was amazing way to buy ones groceries. very relaxing tour, and plenty of chances for pictures, especially of the house surrounded by glass.

Charming eco friendly area with short hikes and a small natural history museum. Snack bar and restaurant on a tree shaded terrace. Absolutely delightful. One word of advice: the so called hamburgers are bun-less and the "hongo and pino" one is truly disgusting. The one made from lentils is good. We stared with longing at the tables nearby where they had ordered pizza which was obviously the right choice!
