Like most people, I came to Tigre for a boat trip but I wanted to see the town as well and this seemed like the main cultural attraction on offer. If you're not pushed for time, it's a really nice walk from the town centre to the museum along some beautiful tree-lined streets and the museum itself is a striking building in a great location on the river. I really enjoyed the art collection on display here. Not being an art expert, I can sometimes find large art museums a bit overwhelming but you can get round this musem quite quickly and the works on display are very accessible: I particularly enjoyed the paintings of La Boca which were a nice preview for my trip there a few days later. If you do a trip to Tigre try and fit this museum in - for me it was definitely worth the detour!

Don't make a special trip here unless you love architecture and a bit of art....the collection is ok but not outstanding or plentiful.....the building is just beautiful and rated highly for its architecture....Of course ,if you are visiting Tigre it's a must see...

We had a posh cocktail evening at this venue, having arrived by a boat up the river and delta. Tango dancing show and small bites made for a wonderful evening. Plenty of photo ops to take photos with the beautiful gals and guys from the tango show afterwards.

The location is pretty far by river (almost 2 hours) but only a short coach ride back to the hotel by road.

Named in 2016 one of the 15 most beautiful museums in the world by the Conde Nast Magazine, the MAT is a must see attraction if you are visiting Buenos Aires.
I had the chance to check out the current exhibition "Escuela de Arte de la Boca. Sus Maestros", a wonderful group exhibition featuring over 70 works by Argentinian artists most of them of Italian descent that flourished in the La Boca neighborhood the first half of the XX century.
Both the museum and the exhibit are worth visiting!.

The Tigre Museum of Art has been restored to its opulent grandeur. Inaugurated in 1912 as a sports and social club (Tigre Club) with emphasis on Tennis and Rowing. Restored and rededicated in 2006 the MAT revels in it's former glamour as a Casino and Boutique Hotel to show some of the best of 19th and 20th Century Argentinian Art with a focus on Landscapes and the elements of every day that are unique to the Delta, Tigre Island and the Nation. We were fortunate to be part of a group that toured the Museum and later entertained by by an ensemble of Tango Dancers and their Band. Allow sufficient time to explore the magical rooms of this Edifice to the Arts. Guided Tours from 9 AM to 2 PM Monday - Friday. General Information can be found at infomuseo@tigre.gov.ar.

Enjoyed the walk down the river to view this beautiful building. The art museum has a small collection but very nice. It’s worth the price of admission.

Looking for arts while in Tigre? Then yes this is the place. Interesting exhibits and tons of paintings 🖼 to look at. Also don’t forget the first floor that gives you a great view of the delta.
