About
Since 1867 this big old house has been established in the historic center of the City. Energetic Tango Show with a good meal
My wife and I attended the dinner show at El Querandi during our visit to Buenos Aires. The menu gave a lot of options, but I ordered the steak. The tango show presented a history of tango through the years with the dancers in costume of the period. The dancers were very professional. It was amazing to see them dance so fast, yet so flawlessly. The show was one of the highlights of our trip to Buenos Aires.

    The real Tango experience
We researched the best authentic Tango show via travel blogs etc - we found it ! This is not vegas show style. If you want small and intimate 1920s venue with the real Tango deal , then this is it. I booked directly with El Querandi (no need to book via tour company). We didn’t have dinner, but our choice was either appetiser or dessert with wine and water. (Antipasto and ice cream). The staff were helpful and friendly- they used WhatsApp to arrange the pickup and were on time. Then they were there waiting for us to take back to hotel. So, the Tango show? It took us on a journey of the history of Tango with amazing dancers and vocalists. The small band was excellent and the violinist wonderful. It lasts just over an hour. It was a wonderful evening and I thoroughly recommend.

    Great VIP evening!
We booked the VIP dinner with pickup direct from the theater. I got a WhatsApp message just before 8pm with the name of our driver, who was already in the lobby when we got downstairs. After a quick drive, we were seated right next to the stage. We had a delicious three-course meal and the house wine. The show began around 10:30, and lasted about an hour. It was entirely in Spanish, but the wait staff was multilingual.

Nice Tango show in pleasant atomsphere
I booked directly with the establishment for just the show, which included unlimited drinks and an entre or dessert. My hotel was within a few hundred metres, so it was really easy to get to. I was sat near other solo travellers and a newly wed couple, so we chatted amongst ourselves before and after the show. The show was fantastic, very entertaining and well worth the money I spent. Staff very friendly, courteous and helpful.

Decent food and amazing dancers and musicians
Despite being English and not really ‘understanding’ the lyrics, the music and dancing was really good. We went for the meal and wine option which was good… you can order a ‘better’ wine if you prefer but the house wine was included and fine for us. Service was good, there is an option to buy a photo (we didn’t) so the only extra cost was whatever we decided to tip the waiter. We we collect from our hotel in Palermo on time and dropped back afterwards. Highly recommended!

Best Tango show in BA and so reasonable
So much better than Rojo Tango-$200 show only I went to 2 months ago and I couldn’t see anything below the dancers’ shoulders. El Querandi was a small venue. We booked the show only and had great seats- I could see the dancer’s feet for $55 and it included transport, a bottle of wine, an appetizer or dessert, water. Book directly with the venue. The dancing singing and music were great. Highly recommend.

    Great Tango Show
Difficult to pick which Tango show to see but eventually chose El Querandi and decided to go all out with their VIP package. They provided a car to collect us which was a bit late but understandable because of big protest demonstrations in the city. On arrival we were seated at the front next to the stage (all seats had good views of the elevated stage) and then enjoyed an excellent meal and decent wine. The show was superb telling the history of Tango with excellent music & dance. At the end they handed out gratuity holders but I think all the shows do this but we were not pressured. We were swiftly shown to our waiting car for our return to the hotel. Great night, would do it again.

    You can’t miss it.
Don’t know which of the listings for this place is most useful or representative of our experience, but can say that although this place i# obviously geared and focused on holiday folk, it is still somewhere that can’t be missed. It’s a well produced and probably sufficiently authentic to give a proper taste of Argentine tango. And the food and ambiance are upbeat tasty lively etc etc.

The whole experience is of a farm factory - the tables of about 300-400 people are literally next to each other, so forget an intimate dinner. You get there for about 8pm but the show doesn’t start till 10:30 and in the meantime you’re expected to ‘socialise’ with whoever sits around you, which is honestly a very poor consumerist idea. Clearly all the care about is to fit in as many tables as possible to make as much co money as possible.
The show then lasts for about an hour, is of good quality but in the meantime the waiters sneak in the black books where you are of course obliged to tip and the whole thing just leaves you in dismay.
The food is a gable - don’t order a salad. Salads are ‘warm’ and it’s clear they’ve been prepared way in advance.

Had some plans fall through and reached out last minute. Pedro was super helpful and able to accomodate us on a Sunday night. Food was outstanding and show was exactly what we wanted-to experience Tango in Buenos Aires.

One of the best parts was getting to know fellow diners we were seated with. Truly what travel is about.

4,5 for show, 0,5 for service and kitchen.
The show itself was good, actually it starts not at 20 or 20:30, but at half past ten, and lasts about an hour. Interesting brief excursion throw 150 years of tango history, good traditional music, dancers and singers really well.
Guests are expected to enjoy the interiors, dinner and small talk from 20:00 to 22:30. Everything is fine with the interiors, the enjoyment of a conversation is completely in your hands, but it is impossible to enjoy a local dinner, just be careful - significant risk to be poisoned.
