Since 1867 this big old house has been established in the historic center of the City. In 1920 it was founded as a bar and then, in 1992 restored; it is now considered by the Museum of the City of Buenos Aires as a “Living Evidence of the Civic Memory” and as a “Place of Tourist Interest” by the National Tourist Secretary.

You either love it or hate it. I went with my girlfriend who absolutely adored the whole evening. Loved the show and the food. She’d give it 5 I’d say more a 1/2 star event. Personally I thought it was over priced, especially as walking...More

Very formal elegant business lunches. Never been to the tango show. Impeccable service. Excellent food.

When we arrived, we were immediately seated and offered the menu. We chose a starter, a main course, and a dessert. Our meal was served quickly, but neither of us were too excited about the food. It was OK, but certainly not a meal we...More

We had asked the hotel to recommend an authentic tango experience but knew instinctively that we had arrived at a full on tourist venue. It was a good decision to skip the dinner and buy non dining tickets, although drinks and the offer of dessert...More

Food came really fast and was pretty good actually. The show itself was ok. The pole in the middle of the stage is weird and sometimes makes it hard to see the dancers. The waiters never come around to check on you. Overall it was...More

This venue is a tourist magnet. For one price, they provide mediocre food, plenty of cheap wine, and tango entertainment. Tourist buses bring foreigners (like us) to El Querandi, which consists of a large L-shaped venue with long tables all facing the stage. There are...More

As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires,
Montserrat is defined by the historical events that

this connection to history: countless public
