This is a stunning church, something so beautiful and well made. For us it was an unexpectable find.

Beautiful church hidden on the streets of Buenos Aires. Big building surround the church. Stunning on the inside. Beautiful stained glass, paintings and statues. So glad we found this gem. Well worth the visit.

We were walking past this church and thought we would have a quick look inside. What a revelation. On the walls some fantastic tile mosaics of the stations of the cross and a number of other larger tile mosaic pictures, some beautiful stained glass windows and an ornately decorated cupola. There was a central nave flanked by 2 aisles.

The main alter was quite beautiful as were a number of the side chapels in the aisles flanking the nave. This church was only built in 1935, the original 18th century chapel having been demolished to facilitate road widening.

On the left hand side as you enter the church there is a side large chapel that fronts the street and contains an ornate statue of the Virgin de los Desamparados that was in the old chapel.

One of the better churches that we saw in Buenos Aires.

Our youngest grandson was christened here. We had never been and were surprised at how beautiful the church is. It has a history with an older church on this site dating back centuries. If the sunlight is good look at paintings on the side on an angle and you will see gold flecks in the painting. 2-3 small altars on the side and outside that have interesting statuary. Very, very beautiful church which is open everyday.

While walking between locations we stopped in the get out of the rain for a few minutes. It is a very pretty church, but overly ornate.
