This place is amazing. My wife and I went there in 2012 and now in 2018. This time to see Carlos di Fulvio. You have to get early (around 8:30) to get a nice spot. The food and wine options are good. They accept only...More

This place isn't too known, even by the taxi drivers, yet they recently hosted Astor Piazzola's grandson, whose a musician in his own right. They serve dinner and have a nice wine selection.

Torquato tasso is my favorite in BA and a must on each trip. They have amazing musicians come to their venue, an intimate setting with few tourists. Grab dinner before as food is mediocre at best

Wonderful, energetic musicians and singers perform an authentic tango show. Unfortunately the food is of very low quality and overpriced making you feel it's a tourist trap. They ask you to be there at 9 pm, an hour and a half before the show to...More

We went to hear an amazing singer (and actress), Soledad Villamil. Our best night in BA. In our early 40s we were a little on the young side for the crowd, but the vibe was super-fun, generous, into the music, and not touristy. We went...More

Torquato Tasso, off Parque Lezama, in San Telmo, is a classic, old tango hall but with a new floor and some difficult, new design features......the best tango musicians play here, live, all the time, for milongas, or not! Fabulous on Sundays, for dancing, starting around...More

We were probably the only tourists in the audience, certainly the only English speakers! We thought we were going to see a tango dance show but it turned out to be a tango band and singers. Not speaking Spanish we couldn't understand a thing! But...More

San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San
Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made
Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many
different cultures: a true child of immigration, much
like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after
dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both
locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee
hours of the morning. During the day, the antique
