Eternautas is a company run by historians graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, who have been managing it since March 1999. The perspective of tourism adopted by Eternautas focuses on tailor-made cultural circuits which intend to convey the history, the architectural features, the cultural codes, the political and economic nuclei, and the social and demographic data of the various tourist destinations. All these itineraries interact closely with their urban context, as they aim to provide passengers with the opportunity not only to enjoy their visit, but also to have an understanding of the characteristics of the sites visited.

By approaching themes and urban areas which are often disregarded by the tourism offer for being “non-touristic”, Eternautas has managed to establish itself as one of the leading suppliers of Cultural Tourism at the local level.

Since the company broadened its array of products in 2009, it has incorporated some European destinations and has designed tours which bear all the hallmarks of Eternautas.

These initiatives have met such favourable reception that the company has been able to grow and establish itself in an effective way. Eternautas operates as a provider of services for the corporate market, embassies, public and private institutions, events and conferences, tour operators, national and foreign educational institutions, hotels, and numerous Argentine and foreign individuals who seek the appraisal of cultural heritage and its historical dimension.

Two of the tours,' Images of Buenos Aires' and 'Jewish Buenos Aires', led by Claudia, were excellent. She has in-depth knowledge of the history, culture, architecture and art of BA and shares it in the most interesting and intelligent of ways. Bettina arranged everything marvelously. We were certain we would be in great hands and, with Eduardo, we certainly were. An architect and a native of Buenos Aires, he provdided us with a private tour of many of the most interesting sites. When we were stopped by traffic caused by a demonstration, he quickly adjusted, gave us alternatives and made the... More

Eduardo Masllorens provided an exceptional tour of BA. He was punctual picking us up at cruise port, and very quick to customize the tour to meet our very specific request. Really appreciated his knowledge and flexibility.

I had the great pleasure to take both a walking tour of the Buenos Aires historic district and then later a semi private highlights tour of the city. Whether this is your first time (like mine), or frequent visitor, I cannot rate this company high enough. The cultural and historical observations made with our leader, Analia Weiss, were superb. We took three different tours with Eternautas in order to use our limited time in Buenos Aires most efficiently, and we were extremely impressed with all three guides. Claudia was our guide to Jewish Buenos Aires. She took us to the most important Jewish neighborhood (Once) where we went inside two different synagogues and viewed the community center (AMIA) where... More

Our half day city tour was an excellent way to witness the beauty and history of Buenos Aires on a private tour for my sister and me. Upon arrival, you will realize that BA is a bit spread out and it's not practical to walk to all the historical sites and the different barrios. The Eternautas tours are the only way to go in our opinion! A driver and professional guide pick you up in a sedan from your hotel and take you on a private tour.... More

I have been in Buenos Aires many, many times (I actually have a small home there), but when some friends came to visit, I decided to arrange a overview city tour for them and decided, just for kicks, to join in. Eternautas is a wonderful option, and very cheap if you join the weekly walking to discover the history and architecture of Buenos Aires. We did one of this tour and was excellent, the guide was an university professor, nice and friendly. They have broad options of tours (private in specifically subjects, even history courses). Absolutely recommended!!!.

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
