Neighbourhood: San Nicolás
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub and migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theatre lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. I was very underwhelmed. I'm shocked that this place has four and a half stars out of five because when I went there was absolutely nothing going on and no art exhibits. Perhaps they were in the middle of transition but I'm really surprised that a massive place like that couldn't have had some type of exhibition in one of the rooms.

The acoustics are fabulous in the main salon, where we were treated to a memorable concert of alumni, students, maestros from Folkloric Orchestra of the School of Popular Music of Avellaneda. What a night of song and instruments!

Very different…a mix between old and new. The show rooms where several scattered around the different floors. Some of them were interesting but some others we battle to find them very interesting.

Lovely historic building. Some interesting art, both temporary and permanent. Much of the building was off limits that day but it is worth a look.

Beautiful! My family and I did not plan a visit here and we had no idea what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Overall, a nice visit. We enjoyed it.

The Centro Cultural Kirchner is an excellent Argentine cultural venue that is free to enter. Be sure to visit the Salon de Eva Peron on the fourth floor. Also, be sure to visit the observation deck on the eighth floor.

Really a wonderful place to visit. I especially enjoyed, on the 4th floor, the room where Eva Peron provided young children with gifts, as well as other items. The interior is definitely worth a visit. It opens at 2:00 pm. Quite a few exhibits and collection by Argentina Artists.

I attended a three-guitar concert with two excellent singers. Short program. These concerts are free, but you need to reserve a ticket anyway.

Fantastic old city post office building. It has now been converted into a centre for culture and arts. We visited a book fair and on a previous occasion we enjoyed a tango event by disabled dancers.
There is always something new and some events in the foyer, for example, are free. The building has great architecture with a contemporary style concert hall apparently suspended in space.
The old post office fixtures and fittings have been retained which adds to its charm.
