this is situated in the center a the main roads of Buenos Aries. I believe that it is more famous for the huge BA done in shrubs than for the El obelico. It can be a good meeting point but most people there were taking shots of the BA done in green shrubs/bushes.

We used to use the Obelisk as a meting point every day if we split up while sightseeing as it is absolutely vast and can be seen from almost anywhere in the city centre. It's a good photo op, indeed you'll find it on many of the postcards of the city you can buy in the shops. So in that... More

Definitely worth a visit to feel like you are in the heart of this gorgeous city. Easily accessible, but be careful of the cars, buses and other traffic. Plenty of fantastic photo opportunities with the city skyline as the background. The obelisk itself is just a simple design, but it certainly still stands out as a great landmark. Well lit... More

Surrounded by beeping horns and loads of traffic it's hardly a peaceful area but sitting on the wall looking up at the monument is a great opportunity for watching the world go by. As far as monuments go it's pretty plain and basic, but the lights at night ensure it's just as visible as it is during the day. The... More

I like this for itself as a dramatic focal point - also for the fact that it makes it easy to see where you are when walking around the city.
