The Museo Histórico Nacional del Cabildo y la Revolución de Mayo is a must-see if you're interested in Argentine history. Even if you're not, it's free to enter and on the Plaza de Mayo. You'll be there any. You might as well take a look. Besides, the Museo Histórico Nacional del Cabildo y la Revolución de Mayo has the best view of the Casa Rosada.

The historic town hall building which is very noticeable from the Plaza Mayo. It now contains a free museum containing many 18th century artifacts. Some of them are interesting, but be aware nearly all of the signage is in Spanish (probably to be expected in Argentina…). The two levels and outdoor patio can be explored in less than an hour. There is no air conditioning and unfortunately the bell tower is no longer open to visit.

This historic building is where the Revolution of 1810 began. You can admire the view of the Plaza de Mayo from the balcony and look at the exhibits about the revolution. There is even an archaeological dig adjacent to the building. Across the courtyard was an exhibit of painting of Liberator Jose de San Martin at various staged of his life.

The Museo Nacional del Cabildo, was originally built as the home for the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata in 1812, in the Colonial and Baroque architecture styles: It was also used as a seat of the town council during the colonial era, and also there was a jail for slaves and lawbreakers alike, who were tortured and packed into small cells.
Today it is a nice small museum with information on the origins of modern Argentina and great views of the Plaza Mayor, Casa Rosada and the Cathedral.
TIP: Check out the City Legislature Building nearby with its tall white tower, architectural landmark.

If it blinks, it goes unnoticed as there is no sign identifying the location.
It's worth taking a quick look at this museum, it tells about the history of the revolution that took place in Argentina.
The place is very pleasant and beautiful.

It has free access, and has excellent descriptions of everything on display. You can see pictograms that narrate the history of Argentine independence and the social life of the 18th century.
The second floor has a great view but you can't get too close to the balcony (it's prohibited). I totally recommend it.

The site of original gachupin (Spaniard) administration (police, king's representatives, army) and jail. You can transport yourself back a few centuries - there are videos, uniforms, a limited number of original artifacts. Worth visiting.

It's one of the most important historical places in the country. It's value (and the tour's value) consists of understanding the history within, otherwise as you've read in other descriptions, it is only an old building. It is the place where the revolution began stirring to free Argentina from spanish rule. Knowing history and the contribution of the country to free others in the area, you'll appreciate the importance of the place. Definitely a must see in any trip to the country's capital.

You get awesome views of the square from the terrace. Informative displays about the town halls history. Well worth stopping in. You can tour the whole place within half an hour.

The museum is not so big and I know a lot of people are not so enthusiastic about this kind of tour, but you should definitely do it. You will find a lot of information regarding an epic moment for Argentina. It is not worth to visit the country and not learn something about its history. I strongly recommend this museum. It is easy to find the place and it is cheap to enter it.
