This is a pleasant place to walk in BsAs. A working class neighborhood turned into a hot spot for restaurants and shopping. Spend an afternoon here walking around.

Palermo is cool. Palermo is hippy.Palermo is very artistic. Is not in the centre of the city, but you have the tube station ( plaza Italia) is a nice place to stay and to book your hotel. it s full of shop selling artisan stuff, and design product. lots of restaurant. Perfect place to spend day and night

Well, I live in Canada, but I'm from Buenos Aires. Palermo Viejo is one of the neighbourhood with its own character. Walk the touristic areas, but also walk the not comercial streets. Porteños are very friendly people. Learn the basics words in Spanish, but with the Argentinian slang. Like: Hi how are you? Hola, como estás? Soy de ______ (I'm... More

Palermo viejo is a beautiful neighborhood in Buenos Aires, plaza Armenia is an amazing area to have lunch in a sunny day, all the restaurants have tables outside. You can find the best argentinian brands in this area, if you are into fashion this is the place for you.

The neighborhood has lots of restaurants and stores, but nothing too fancy. There are lots of cheesy bars around, probably for teenagers or you adults in their early 20's. I was warned by a local not to walk around with my mobile or any jewelry showing up.

Beautiful tree lined streets. Lots of activities all of the time. Very safe. Excellent restaurants and hotels. Friendly people. I love this neighborhood as I can simply immerse myself into the life of Buenos Aires without feeling like a tourist.

October 19th - 2015 - As soon as you walk along the alleys of Palermo viejo you'll have the feeling of a deja vu; i.e. a sort of attempt to provide a more exclusive imitation of the atmosphere provided naturally by the San Telmo borough. Obviously, the attempt fails, although this area still offers some interesting spots where a lighter... More

Haven been to Paris a number of times. Palermo Viejo could easy have been transported here from Europe. The trees are tall and well trimmed. The area is a wonderful collection of shops, restaurants and restored as well as modernized buildings. Must see to fully understand.

We stayed in this area of BA for a week during our honeymoon and LOVED it. The architecture of the houses, the fabulous boutique shopping and amazing restaurants on every corner made our trip to Argentina. We had a ball shopping, walking, dining and enjoying local life. Would love to go back

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
