The government’s executive branch is housed in this building, a strange mix of various architectural styles, perhaps best known for the balcony from which Evita rallied the working class crowds.

Beautiful external facade

We drove by on the hop on-hop off tour. Wish we had toured the inside. Great facade and history. will go back.

We were fortunate enough to find out if you went online before hand, you could book a free tour of the pink palace over the week-ends only in Spanish or English. Well worth the effort...tour takes about an hour! Pretty impressive inside including a visit to the president of Argentina's office!

It is at the Subway A line last stop Plaza De Mayo, so you don't have to go out of your way to visit the Pink House. We could not enter and so just took a picture at the front of the building.

Following an earlier disaster with our accommodation, we found ourselves outside the Pink House on a day it was open to the public, so were really keen to see where Evita stood on the famous balcony. We were told by entrance staff we needed to register online to book a visit and after a lengthy conversation we figured out there... More

The overall views are nice. The courtyard area is cluttered and dirty. There is some kind of fencing around a veteran "encampment" that looks like a homeless camp and steel riot control barriers that are beyond ugly. This plaza needs a good cleaning and some exhibition of national pride.

On a beautiful day it is the perfect background for a photo and visit to a very important home...we walked from one end of the national mall to the other & experienced a lot of history and stunning architecture with our guide Gustavo Bodner, who was a pleasure to be with...informative, helpful, personable, reasonable rates.

Every weekend the house is opened up to tour groups to go in and see the inside of the presidential house. During the tour you get to see the inner hallways, the hall of fame , a quick glimpse of the presidential office and also you get to step out onto the presidential balcony overlooking Plaza de Mayo. Definitely worth... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
