The theatre is absolutely stunning. You cannot miss it because it is such an imposant edifice in the middle of the square.

This is a tour like no other, and a fine experience in which you get a lot of value for your 90 pesos (Oct 2017). Unlike most guided tours, this is hosted by a team of four highly skilled performers. With the help of the theatre staff, they deliver a 90-minute song, dance, comedy and slapstick performance that explains the theatre's history, construction/renovations, key performers and place as the Argentine National Theatre. The effort and energy they put into it is impressive. There is plenty of access to different areas of the building, and some element of audience participation.

We can get by with Spanish on a typical, spoken guided tour. But being presented in this unique manner made it harder for us to understand the Spanish content (in particular, references to local characters and history). And of course, it's not the sort of content that could be translated and presented in English - and nor should it. So - if you're not reasonably strong in Spanish, go along to appreciate the building and performance (which the fluent speakers absolutely loved) but be prepared to not get as much of the information as you might otherwise.

This theatre is very impressive. The 50 minute guide orientation was worth the money. We got our tickets the day before as there can be a long wait for tickets.
The guide was knowledgeable and gave interesting information about the theatre.
The decor is stunning and awesome. There was no expense spared for marble brought from Europe.
The Acustics is supposed to be one of the best in the world and famous singers have said that this is not good for them as every mistake is obvious.
A real must if you are in Buenos Aires.

The tickets are highly subsidized and the place is wonderful.

We just saw a beautiful production directed and created by Gerardo Hochman, called Leonardo.

The level of artistic creativity in this country is amazing.
