For the free Buenos Aires tours you have to show up at the meeting points: -11 AM PLAZA DEL CONGRESO (Rivadavia Ave and Rodriguez Pena St) -5 PM at PLAZA SAN MARTIN (Santa Fe Ave and Maipu St, beside the horse monument). Both tours are different!

I'm so glad I found this tour -- even though I had a list of places to see, I couldn't have covered everything myself. Buenos Aires is such a huge city, it's better to use a guide. We had Vicky and she was wonderful! She spoke very good English and was very proud of her city. We learned all sorts... More

The tour in the afternoon at 5 pm was excellent! We learned a lot about the history and life of the people as well as the city itself. The guide Vicky spoke perfect English and she interacted with the audience in a very open minded way. Thus the tour became very individual. Thanks a lot! You guys are great, keep... More

Before arriving in Buenos Aires I found this tour in TripAdvisor and had only good reviews so I took it and wasn't disappointed. Jimena our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and made our time enjoyable. Great way to learn about places and events that happened in this beautiful city.

We did both the morning tour (Vicki) and the afternoon (Jimena) and enjoyed them both equally. They both included a lot of great information and a manageable pace. Squeezing a lot into a short time is tough but these tours have plenty of experience to draw upon. Both guides were clearly knowledgable and proud of their city...a great way to... More

My friend and I took part to the tour today and had Javier as a guide (for Spanish speakers) He is a lovely, communicative and very expressive guy and clearly cares about his job. Highly recommended!

I went the morning and afternoon tours with Jimena. The groups were quite small so we could hear her well. Her english is very good and I had no problems understanding her talking. She answered all questions about history or current situations, and also gave recommendations especially if asked (someone wanted to see tango and someone wanted to go to... More

We spent 3 hours with Jimena and a relatively small group of about 20 people starting from the Congress and in that time we were really well informed on the local culture, sights not to miss and the historical background that you could so easily miss without this tour. Time was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and made our day...Thoroughly recommend.

Gimena is a great guide, she makes the afternoon tour very nice. The tour is interesting for its content but also for the time in wich starts. Its i think the only walking tour that start at 5 PM so i can manage to make it. Gimena gives you a general picture of Recoleta, and a lot of storys of... More

I did the recoleta tour, we met in the monnument of san martin (the big one with a horse). Recoleta is a beautifull neighborhood, is very quite and really looks fancy french. I highly recommend the tour to learn about the history of the city and argentina. Our guide Vicky was very helpfull and knowledgeable. There are places where you... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
