Lots to take in. For fans of Templar Knights and Manueline architecture. Good display of everyday functions of convent. Fascinating Manueline window. A bit foe everyone who bothered to make a journey.

This place/ monastery is really very special, full of history of Knights of the Temple and established in 12 century. There is a very special round church like in Jerusalem. The only thing, it's again not really well preserved.

Interesting history. We'll worth visiting. Well preserved. You will enjoy the castle more if you have a guided tour.

Its hard to describe as every stone and turn has history here. The views are simply amazing and if you know anything about Templar lore, this is a must visit. This is hallowed ground.

The convento de christo (convent of christ) is a UNESCO world heritage site well deserving. It's in the Templar castle of Tomar. It is a spectacular place to visit maybe 2 hours north of Lisbon well worth the day trip. Check it out if you have the chance.

This attraction is easy to find, you just have to follow the signs to the large parking lot. The admission fee is only for inside the building, you are free to wander the beautiful grounds that are surrounded by stone ramparts that you can walk on. The outer doors and windows all have elaborate designs using symbols that glorify the... More

I was overwhelmed by this place. The craftwork and detail was a totally unexpected delight. If I lived in or near Tomar I would visit every day.

A fantastic visit! It is really worth it to spend at least 1h30. Simply gorgeous monument that, while filled with history, is also a work of art. The gardens were lovely in winter, but I imagine that they must be something else in summer. Great experience!
