Take full advantage of the tranquility of Candidasa, don't miss this magnificent walk.
Paved with tiare flowers, take the path along the pond, admire the blooming lotuses if you pass there in the morning, otherwise simply stroll in the shade of the trees along the water while looking at the hills.
At the end of the afternoon, families swim on the small adjoining beach. I advise you to do the same, then continue walking for hours on the beach at low tide...

As I really like lotus flowers, this was great to see. Went past in full bloom, it was stunning. Also viewed the lagoon as the flowers were about to bud and it was great to see so many plants about to flower.

This is not a big spot. You will see people but the pathway is big enough to share.

Locals swim and fish in a spot close to the ocean where the lagoon drains.

You can site and look at the ocean and islands or the lagoon at sun rise or sun set.

I was pleasantly surprised to run into this lagoon as I was walking around Candidasa. I was there in the morning so the flowers were still open (they close in the afternoon sun). There's a nice path all around the lagoon. It didn't seem like there was much to do in Candidasa, so if you're there, you might as well make the couple-minute detour.

If you think this lagoon with the huge water Lillie's and lotus plants looks amazing from beside it, take the time to walk up the steep steps in the temple opposite it and you will be stunned at its beauty.
A painter or photographers dream scene.
Remember to take and wear a sarong as this is a sacred temple. Also quite a few steep steps, so be ready.

It is just of the road, and if there are no flowers, you could walk by without thinking it is actually a special place. I am sure it is beautiful in full bloom, but were here in December, so not much really to see.

The lotus lagoon is quite pretty to look at, but it’s basically a pond on the main road opposite a temple. It is very pretty and I imagine even prettier if you arrive when all the flowers are open. You can take some pretty photos, but that’s about it!

Love photographing this Lagoon with its ever-changing hues and flora. Sometimes it looks cold & mystic, other times, vibrant with blues and greens. Most times it has lots of lotus flowers, but I have also seen it nearly bare of lotus pads
From the young children fishing on the concrete steps to the locals washing their clothes (& sometimes themselves), in the overflow at the beach end, there is always something interesting to look at.

A lovely walk off the Main Street. Everyone is so friendly when you walk by. We followed other advise to arrive early to see the lotus flowers opened. Before 9 is a nice time to walk as it’s still cool, although I walked past on a separate day around 10:30 and flowers were still open.

While the lagoon was just that, a logoon, behind it is a small group who take tourists snorkeling. Our guide, Bower, came and talked to us at the beach at the resort, and arranged to take us out to find Nemo the next day. I cost us $20AUD, and it was great. We didn't find Nemo, but had a great time.
