But it should be on your list of things to do before you die! Single lane gravel road, one and a half kilometers in the sky, switchback bends, breathtaking scenery and oh the relief when you have navigated your way up and down safely..... when...More

Did this as part of a coach tour driving through it was very picturesque, but would not do it again as felt the tour did a lot of things that weren’t necessary

We drove from Prince Albert side of the mountain in a Toyota Rav. The road is good and we saw a couple of standard sedan cars on the pass. You do not need a 4×4 The scenery was spectacular and fyn bos beautiful. There is...More

It is a long way up there, but the views get more spectacular as you go up. Photographs don't do justice to the vastness of the gorges, with the passes snaking through

Although signed as being closed we made it ! Some very hairy bends but stunning views all the way up to the summit and either over or back.

It is a MUST DO to drive the pass and the most unbelievable spot for a braai at the Prince Albert end of the pass. If you are heading from `Oudtshoorn to Cape Town consider Cango Caves the Swartberg Pass to Prince Albert via Fernkloof...More

We cannot describe how beautiful this pass is. Every visitor should do this drive at least once. The views are indescribable and it is so serene.

A must travel road for every visitor to the Little Karoo. The road is interesting, and the scenery breathtakingly beautiful. You will need at least half a day to enjoy it all, but best is to drive all the way to Prince Albert for breakfast...More

OK so the views makes up for a lot that is wrong here. One thing this pass I would keep as a 4x4 only pass as the normal cars do not know what the correct etiquette is when doing a pass like this. And the...More

I’d plan a 3 to 4 hrs for the drive from Outshorn to Prince Albert over the Swartberg Pass depending on how many stops for photos and to admire the rock formations you make. This is one way! Enjoy!

That will not be a problem at all. Just take it easy if you are going down the mountain to The Hell.
