You are first greeted by locals waving all different kinds of ostrich products for sale. The museum displays the history of the time with displays of ostrich products, a doll collection, old clothing and products and most memorable a small synagogue intact inside the museum.

Re creating whole shop fronts within the museum has been well done, and there is a practicing Jewish synagogue right in the museum. Be warned - prepare to spend at least a couple hours here to absorb and take in all the museum.

This museum gives lots of information the ostrich industry and the history of Oudtshoorn. Some of the displays are old and bit hard to read. The synagogue is great as is the bank display, but the editorials are hard to read. A good museum.
