From all angles of the lagoon you can see and experience so much! Boating at its best with plenty of fishermen, day cruisers water skiing and houseboats. Birdlife is rich from all areas especially around Thesen Island side where we spotted photographers with huge lenses...More
We took a boat tour through here (there are multiple types of boat tours from which to choose). It is very calm water so you wouldn't likely get sea sick. We saw a few seals swimming here.
Prepare yourself for a couple of days staying here. Lots of things to see and to do. Enjoy time on the waterfront and on Thesen Island. Go to the Heads or play golf. On bank holidays, and on weekends you are not alone!
You can't really miss the lagoon while in Knysna. It is huge. And it forms the character of the town.
What a pleasure to walk along the lagoon to the waterfront, watching all the boats and activities going on with the bird life and the visitors jumping on the fairy for a cruise.
The lagoon is fairytale like and I wishI lived in Knysna. I would never tire of this coastline! I shall return!
While staying on Leisure Island we were able to really enjoy the lagoon. We drove around the edge of the island and also walked around most during low tide. One has a beautiful view right across the lagoon to The Heads as well as inland...More
Lovely wander over the boardwalk looking at different birds and animals. Seats along the way. Very scenic.
Just such a stunning area. Our hotel overlooked the lagoon and we could watch this ever changing landscape for hours from sun rise to sunset. Lovely areas to walk around, eat, take boat trips from.
