My backyard, playground....where I regain my sanity and get in touch with nature. Where I heal and live. Walk it bare feet and feel the energy of the forest revitalize you

We stayed at Forest Valley Cottages and Sunday, ventured out to enjoy the 3km walk. Very easy, tranquil, birdsong and fresh fragrances. Would love to do the more challenging 9km route next time. Bathroom facilities weren't great, only reason I didn't give it full 5...More

Dalene Matthee is part of the forest and this well known author who lived for the Knysna forest wrote a book titled Circles in the Forest and her ashes were strewn at the sight of the walk. Lovely easy walk with a 750 yr yellowwood...More

We did the 3km walk a day after heavy rain and while the path was damp, it was safe underfoot. To get there it is the second turn off on right, to Rheenendal, after crossing the bridge after Krysna when heading west towards George. The...More

We had a lovely walk, but the 3km uphill walk on the gravel road at the end was harder than I though!

Fairly easy trail with lovely tree canopy (so great in the heat of summer), including signage.Takes less then 2 hours at a medium pace but one can take a longer 9KM trail if up to it.

Various options for routes, all varying in length. We did the 3km Circles in Forest walk. Lovely, pretty easy, beautiful walk through the forest. Well signed throughout. We would have done the 9km if we'd have had time.

Largely a waste of time and money. The grave of Dalene Matthee was marginally interesting, but the forest walk was nothing special and Yellowwood giants can be seen in a number of places in the Outeniqua forests, for example near Natures Valley or the Garden...More

We took the 3km walk, there is a 9km walk available too. The sign indicates it will take 1.5 hours but my wife and I finished in 45 minutes. There are some parts that are rather steep and would not recommend it if you have...More

Yes it is safe from a security point of view but I never think it is a good idea to hike on your own never mind how safe. You can never predict if you will slip or fall. Therefore I would advise not to do it on your own.
