Lovely lunch

Gorgeous pie, lovely surroundings. Don't be in a rush though. Everything was fresh and the pie was very yummy

Ok, firstly let me say I can't comment on the mine walk because it didn't happen. The two star review reflects more all the things that didn't happen, so if you go and you do do all those things you may rate this better than I. We had spent the past 2 days doing attraction type things and wanted to... More

We travelled through the beautiful Knysna forest expecting a visit to Millwood Goldmine with coffee and a light lunch at the cafe BUT all was closed on this lovely Sunday due to Totties restaurant in Rheenandahl needing the staff! Please please Totties place a board at the SANPARKS entrance informing visitors that you are open or closed that day. It... More

What a great tour with our guide, Andrew. Please be aware though the the tour starts 9km inside the National Park- pay for park entry then drive 9km on unmade roads. Andrew knows so much about the forest and the gold mining and loves to share his knowledge with visitors. We were so pleased that we took the tour as... More

Knowing about the goldmine tours, it took a bit of phoning around to track down the person doing them. We managed to get hold of Andrew, the guide, who was absolutely brilliant! He was as keen as they come, and absolutely loves what he's doing. This made for a really interesting morning being told about the history of the area,... More

Our enthusiastic and informative guide, Andrew, made this experience for me. His depth of knowledge of the area and its history clearly came over, along with his love of the beautiful scenery surrounding Millwood. I was initially somewhat dubious about actually going in the mines, but was reassured there were no tight squeezes or very low roofs, and so it... More

This was so interesting. To actually enter a mine and hear all the history. Simply amazing. Garth was a wonderful tour guide, driving us there and telling us everything. Remember to take shoes that can get wet and don't be afraid of the dark :)

Excellent venison pie at Molly's Tea Garden, which is part of the small Millwood museum. With your own pot of coffee and attentive service, it makes a worthwhile stop. Particularly after a short, demanding walk along the circle route in the forest at Bibby's Hoek. A fair amount of mud under the ancient canopy, with lichen, creating intriguing spots of... More

We could not tour the mines for some reason. Long Drive up for nothing. Took a detour on our way down and drove some forest roads that made it worthwhile.

If you follow the Rheenendal Road you will see signs that indicate mining activity within National Park. A small fee has to be paid at the boom unless you have a National Parks Wild Card (can be purchased online and saves you entrance fees at all National Parks country wide in South Africa) Follow the dirt road past the Dalene...
